Editorial Reviews

All aboard on this alternative and fun way to cruise the country, coast-to-coast, exploring Canada's wildlife and unique environment, along with the cities and unusual cultural attractions. International television host Anne Martin invites you to ride the rails and experience this vast and various land with its ancient mountains, ancient peoples, the most modern cities, greatest diversity of people and rich multicultural heritage. All aboard Via Rail Canada! In the main feature we hop on trains across the land, taking plenty of side trips. >From Halifax we travel to Moncton , then up to Matapedia for salmon-fishing and out to Perce for a view of the famous rock and the fossilized fish that made history. The next stage of our journey takes us across to Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. Here we switch to the ""Canadian"" and travel on to Winnipeg, Brandon, Saskatoon and Edmonton. En route we stop off to explore provincial and national parks, experience the diversity of the cities, sail high over the country's capital in a hot air balloon, hike the Manitoba marshes, visit the home of Grey Owl in the boreal forests of Saskatchewan, and challenge the Alberta glaciers. The journey concludes with a luxury train ride from Jasper to Kamloops and on to Vancouver aboard The Rocky Mountaineer.
