4.0 out of 5 stars good product
I've had other bath toy storage units in the form of mesh bags with suction cups. I like this better, since you don't have to dig down into a bag or unhook it and dump it to take out the toys. Just opening a trap door is easier. I didn't have a smooth bath wall surface either (like the other reviewer), but the instructions that came with mine recommended cleaning the area...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the $$
This item is not worth the money. It is easy enough to put together, but you have to do it over and over since it falls apart! The cups don't stick. I am returning this and getting something else. Don't waste your money.

4.0 out of 5 stars good product, December 16, 2004
I've had other bath toy storage units in the form of mesh bags with suction cups. I like this better, since you don't have to dig down into a bag or unhook it and dump it to take out the toys. Just opening a trap door is easier. I didn't have a smooth bath wall surface either (like the other reviewer), but the instructions that came with mine recommended cleaning the area for the smooth wall stickers with rubbing alcohol, then letting it dry. That's what I did, and the stickers stuck great (they're still up 5 yrs later without any peeling). Then the instructions suggested the rubbing alcohol cleaning on top of the stickers and on the suction cups. Everything stuck well. Every few weeks, the unit would start to slip, but I just recleaned the suction cups and the top of the wall stickers with rubbing alcohol (nothing major, just wiped them off quickly), and everything was fine again. After 3 years the coating of the basket started wearing off, and the basket started rusting. Since I really didn't need it anymore, I threw it out. Now my sister wants one, since she remembers mine. I thought it was a good product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk, August 16, 2007
I bought this thinking this would be the PERFECT way to keep my child's bath toys dry and organized. But, when I got it it kept falling apart and the suction cups don't stick. I ended up just tossing it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, but won't stay up, November 3, 2004
Maybe this item would work great if I had a flat slick wall, but I doubt it. I have slightly textured plasticish shower walls, and the suction cups would not stick AT ALL. They send little round stickers to put under suction cups if you have my type of shower walls, but they would not stick either. I even bought those double sided sticky things used to hang items on wall without making a hole, and it held it there somewhat, but when you would open the trap door, the door fell off quickly followed by with the entire unit. I do not recommend this item, and wish I could find something that works! They told me I could send the item back, but shipping was 5.95, so what was the point. I was still losing $12.

This product is very disappointing. The suction cups do not stay and the product itself does not stay together. I am returning for a refund.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great tub toy containment!, June 28, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I read the reviews before I bought this product and I almost didn't because of them. I was desprate to contain all the my little ponies and tea set stuff my daughter insists she "needs" when bathing so I ignored all the bad stuff and bought it anyway. I got it later than I would have wished, (shipping should be like fast food ordering, instant gratification, not waiting on the curb for your fries to finally be done so you can take your bag of shame and eat it on the ride home in peace) but when I did I was thrilled. I put it together with help from my 5 year old. So you can imagine how swift and easy that was. But even so it only took a few minutes and it was up on the wall of my tub/shower combo. I did notice that to open the bottom you would have to lift up so I eliminated that all together by using one of those plastic zip tie things to secure it. So now my daughter has access to all her toys, they drain nicely as to not harbor germs or really gross slime and my OCD is appeased, "And there was peace throughout the land once more." We have had it for about a month and it hasn't moved from the origional placement. With the modification it is wonderful. Definately buy it.

1.0 out of 5 stars piece of junk, May 27, 2008
This review is from: TRAP DOOR bath tub TOY BIN kids shower storage caddy (Toy)
This is a piece of junk. Even with NOTHING in it, it wouldn't stay on the wall of the tub. And I cleaned the wall, and then dried it so the suction cups would work their best. I bought two of them and mounted them. And in the middle of the night, they both ejected themselves off of the wall and into the tub -- making a truly horrible racket and waking us all up! I tried the whole thing again the next day, but they did the same thing. Remember, this is with NOTHING in them! They can't even hold up their own weight, much less the added weight of toys! Don't waste your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!, April 15, 2008
By
I was looking for a better solution than my current plastic laundry basket. I saw this and gave it a shot.
This product like others have stated, is definitely not worth the money. Not only is it a pain to put together, it is even more of a pain to figure out a location to stick it. The trap door has to be lifted in order for it to drop, so if you have oddly shaped toys in it, they get stuck and you end up taking them out of the top.
Being that it is 7" deep, it sticks out further than most bath faucets. Showering with this thing on the wall is not an option. It has been bumped into, knocked off the wall, it slides down the wall from the weight of the toys (thats if you can get the suction cups to stick in the first place.)

Trust me, stick with the plastic bin......

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete Waste of Money, February 13, 2008
Poorly designed! There are much better products out there. If you really want to waste your money just send it directly to the "engineer" who designed this junk. You will save space in your trash can and the landfill. I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and this is the first thing to provoke a 1-star reveiw.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Product, But..., December 27, 2007
I've been using this product for a few months now, and it's been good, except for the occasional suction cups that fall off in the middle of the night and scare you to death. However, I love the "openness" which allows the toys to dry quickly.
