had this type of surge protection for my tablet. lasted about 5 yrs until it defended my laptop with its life. Thats the only drawback to this product, one time use only. once it protects you once, it must be replaced. Though, its the most lightweight of all the surge protection devices out there for laptops.

This little supressor installs on the battery charger and stays there tucked away with only a small orange light to let you know that it is working and alive. When the light goes off, it means that it has killed itself to protect your laptop and you need a new one. It is great peace of mind, it does not need any additonal connections but it only fits a 2-prong charger. I bought the 3-prong version from the same manufacturer for my son's HP laptop. I recommend this product as cheap insurance for your precious laptop.

I love this concept. Its elegant and has the makings of a great product. Where this company has skimped is the internals, typical for low cost, made in China garbage. I own an IBM laptop with two prongs, it fit tightly and worked great for the first week. Then I noticed that it was beginning to develop some play. Well a few days later, it stopped working, either the contacts were damaged or something else happened internally. Anyways, I returned it to amazon and just ordered the APC Pro surge protector for notebooks. It was twice the price, but i'm hoping for ten times the quality.

As implied by the title, my husband and I travel quite a bit for work and pleasure. As a result we've accidentally left a treasure trove of stuff behind in hotels. We installed the surge protector between the plug and the transformer as directed. It works great and we have not lost it yet. We each have laptops and make ample use of them all the time. The surge protector is not bulky either and fits easily in the computer bag. I consider it a good buy.

Surge protector is a great convenience since you can keep it attached to the cord and its handy when you need to plug in your laptop. But....it does not fit tightly enough into the cord plug and pops out if you inadvertently let the cord hang. I purchased 2 and had the same problem with both. Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews before I ordered which described the same problem and I didn't report the problem in time to return it for a refund.TRC Lap Top Surge Protector 2 Prong 90473-10

Great product. Effective protection for your notebook or laptop while on the go. Small and light, it stays well attached to the cord, which plugs into the wall. A 10 outof 10.

I open the box and just plug the surge protector in my dell adaptor. Extremely easy to use and is perfect to travel. Is not very attractive to look but the important is that protect your laptop

My first surge protector of this type gave its life for my laptop. I love the convenience and size of this surge protector. Just keep it plugged in to power cord wherever you take it!

Well I am only giving this item 4 stars because I havent really had it long enough to say its great, and I haven't had any problems with it to score it low for any reason. I bought the 3 prong for my brand spankin' new Dell Studio 17. Its a great fit, doesn't take up a lot of space in the whole circle of already cumbersome power supply and battery charger, and it is lightweight. I do appreciate the indicator light letting me know that it is indeed "alive" and working. I was unaware that this item has to be replaced with it "dies". I am greatful for these reviews as well!

As with a previous user, the connection became loose very quickly (within 2 weeks) and does not provide a good connection between the power pack and cord to the computer. I am purchasing a different product... too bad, I loved the idea and design of this one. Not recommended.
