Love this for my laptop. replaced a USB wireless connector which was bulky and using precious ports. Install was quick with CD, connection is superb at the max rate, and worth every penny of the $50ish I paid.

The TRENDnet 300Mbps Wireless N PC Card TEW-621PC turned out to be a great wireless N card in my Compaq n620c running Windows XP, and it's so low profile that it's almost as though I have an internal N card.

I actually have an Intel G miniPCI card in that laptop with 2 antennas (technically making it a Centrino), but the connection range on the G card is terrible, barely gets me connected in the apartment.

This N gets me online, wirelessly and fast, routinely getting 270Mbps, sometimes 300Mbps, connections. The range is much, much better than the internal G card, though not as good as my wife's wifi G on her Compaq F762NR running Windows Vista. I think the difference is the operating system as the wireless connections appear to be much better on Windows Vista and Windows 7 than Windows XP, after some adjustment to the interface.

Still, getting a wireless connection that is basically as fast as an ethernet connection on the home network, especially for showing pictures and playing video and songs off the share drive, is very nice.

The product does not work well. It loses connection frequently even when 2 feet from the router. Would not recommend it.

I was rebuilding an older XPpro laptop and needed the usb slots for other devices, so I researched PCMCIA wireless cards and found this product from Trendnet. I followed the setup instructions and the laptop was unable to "connect" to my home wireless. So, I removed the software and started over and inserted the card FIRST, then when windows asked for the software, I installed it from disk and that worked. Also, I changed the setup to allow Windows to manage the wireless vs the TrendNet software and this SEEMS to work fine. So far, the range is great and seems to find 'lots' of networks around the neighborhood that I didn't know existed - some unsecured!!! Anyway, the speed is excellent and the connection has not dropped at all. The cardbus sticks out of the PCMCIA slot about 1/2" which is nice and doesn't interfere with other objects on my desk or when I'm using it around the house. The options for various security and backward compatibility make this a good choice for folks needing wireless connectivity on older laptops.

Setup was easy, so 5 stars for that. Connected instantly to my wireless network and had good signal strength! I thought i had just invested the best $14 of my life! Then came day 2...card would not connect to network. Tried EVERYTHING!!! Finally removed/reinstalled the utility program. Connected fine, then, hours later lost all connection again. Rebooted, removed, reinstalled three more times with same result...no connection! I finally went back to using the $50 usb adapter had bought at the local Best Buy and havent had connection problems since. Even though its 3x's as expensive and uses up one of my only 2 USB ports, it's much much more reliable than this product! Dont waste your $$$ on this, it's not a deal at $14 like i had thought. Waste of money.

I've been using Linux for about 12 yrs now, but I could not get this card to work on RedHat 5.5 or Xubuntu 9.04 Linux. I've downloaded and tried the drivers from Trendnet and Ralink, but received errors with both. I'm going to continue to try to make it work with RedHat 5.5 on an Pent4 machine and hopefully it works soon, or i guess I'm going to have to return it. I don't use MS Windows at home.
Right now the error is dpm.o is not formatted correctly.

I installed this on an XP laptop. The software that came with it to manage it did not work at all, so I had to uninstall their management software and then use XP to pick up the drivers and manage the card. So, far it works well on a Linksys wireless router...

This is a very reliable network card with good range and supports all the latest and most secure encryption methods. I am using the WPA2-PSK and installation was a breeze. I installed this on a old laptop (Insipiron 1100, 2003 model), which has both Windows XP and uBuntu 9.0.4 and it was quick and easy to install on both the operating systems.

Its priced very fair. Im glad I made this purchase.

I am using the card on an older IBM T22 laptop. I have upgraded the bios. However, in comparing this card with a Cisco Aeronet wireless g it is not faster in the N-mode than Cisco in the G-mode. I am using a Belkin Wireless router to a cable net. Perhaps the drivers are not up to date. The transmission speed says 170-230mbs vs cisco 54mbs but...the upload and download speeds measured from Time Warner Cable are less for the N-mode than the G-mode. I don't get it. Maybe noise impairs these speeds, but the bottom line is that is not faster.

Installed on an older Dell Window's XP laptop, running Linux Mint Isadora. Started working immediately, no tweaking required.
