This review is from: TRENDnet 8-Port Copper Gigabit Switch TEG-S80TXE (Personal Computers)
I've had this switch now for almost 5 months and have no complaints. The worst thing that comes to mind is that it's mildly warm to touch (about body temp), but it does sit under my desk with little to no air flow.
I was unsure about Trendware International and about their products since I didn't (and still don't) know anyone that owned any of their products. I searched the web and ended up finding positive reviews of this switch. For the price and the capabilities of this switch (8-port unmanaged switch, auto 10/100/1000 sensing, auto straight/crossover sensing) and the positive reviews seemed like a worthy gamble. So far it's been worth the risk.

I used 8 of these switches to build a small office network of 50 computers. they have so far ben amazing after 3 months of use. for the price I coundn't even see another reason to use a diffrent switch. Out of our 50 machines about 20 are Gigabit G5 and G4 machines and the file transfers are fast!

I have 2 of these to create a gigabit network in my house for video transmition and for my Network storage. One is the original version and the other is a later version. Both are running great for more than 2 years....
This is the best deal in town on a gigabit switch. Only note is they must have air ciculation to stay cool!

I bought this one to replace a Dlink gigabit switch in my home network. The Dlink was running way hot, especially as my cat loved to sleep on top of it. It died, no doubt because of the heat. This one is still warm, but not nearly as hot. So the cat doesn't sleep on it as often. The case on the Trendnet is more solid. It is quiet (fanless) . It is my favorite color (blue). And it has 8 fast gigabit ports and is very affordable.

Purchased this in Feb, since I was looking for a 1 gig switch with more than 5 ports for under $60. This met my needs and had great reviews. The switch is fantastic and built very well, it's made from metal, not like a lot of the cheaper 1 gig switches that are made out of plastic. Very happy with the purchase.

Nice 10/100/1000 switch, has never had a glitch or problem of any kind. Noticed a nice improvement in file transfers over the previous 10/100 switch.

TRENDnet TEG-S80TXE 8-Port 10/100/1000 Mbps Copper Gigabit Switch
We just installed our second TRENDnet 10/100/1000 switch. The first one has been running since July 2008. These are awesome. They handle mixed 100 and gigabit traffic with no problems. Just take it out of the box and plug it in. Gigabit connections and 100 MB traffic all work seamlessly. The switch is quiet. No fan but no problems with heat. Allow some room for airflow. The blue metal box is nice. They stack easily. Less expensive than many 5-port switches. Great price - great switch.

This is a great switch that runs cheaper than Netgear, looks better, and performs just as well. I have both brands of 8 port switches and I'll continue to buy Trendnet from now on. The link lights on the front are nice for a home network panel where the plug-in side of the switch may not be visible (rendering the Netgear's link lights useless). The metal case is well made and sturdy and I much prefer the color to other switches, even if that is just aesthetic. Comes with rubber feet (stick-on, you install) and the rear mounting screw holes are better than others I have used, esp. the Netgear.

Great switch at a great price,
This review is from: TRENDnet 8-Port Copper Gigabit Switch TEG-S80TXE (Personal Computers)
For a small network this switch is a dream. Full level-2 switch, so it easily allows multiple, very high speed point-to-point connections without slowdown or packet collisions. Very well built with a sturdy metal housing. Would highly recommend.
