The TRENDnet punch down tool is the best value for the price you can buy. The description is somewhat inadequate. The tool actually comes with two standard twist-lock bits. Each bit has a punch down and cut tool on one end and a punch down only tool on the other end. The unused bit stores in a hole at the top of the handle.

Pro: It's a punchdown tool for network-type jacks and punchdown blocks. The tool does exactly what it says, nothing more. It comes with a spare blade.

Cons: It won't wire the jacks for you. Does not include a pony.

It comes with two reversible tips. It has a tension setting. These are nice attributes. The tips aren't exactly the right size and the tool doesn't consistently cut off the excess wire when punching down but it works well enough.

After hundreds of punches, the first blade is sharp and still looks new. The spring loaded punch can be adjusted, and works well. 5 stars because of no aggravations in hot server rooms!

My son uses these when working on network cable. I have begun tinkering with cat5 cables at church and decided that I needed one. It works a whole lot better than the little plastic jobbies that come from Home Depot. In addition you can set the tension and it automatically cuts the wire when you punch it down. It came with an extra cutting/punchdown blade.

Bought this to complete a few Ethernet runs in the house. Used it on about 12 blocks and it worked perfectly. No complaints.

No problems with my punch down tool yet. Inexpensive solution if you require such a unit. The blades are easy to swap out and the pressure adjustment works fine.
