Works great, very easy to install.

I bought this, plugged it in, and then plugged in all the ethernet cords (one from the router, one from my computer, one for the Roku), and everything works just fine.

I needed to find a solution to connect my stereo gear to the internet because some of the new equipment required internet connection to stream audio/video and to update the hardware. This TRENDnet switch works flawlwssly. The best points:

- It is very small and hides well behind all of the stereo equipment.
- It only gives full power to occupied ports to save energy.
- brainless setup
- sturdy build with a metal case

I just plugged the internet connection from my DSL router into port one and everything else into the other ports and I was good to go.

died within two weeks ... support by email only ...you as the user are responsible for the mailing which makes it cheaper to dump the item.
Buy a Netgear instead.

I simply love this ethernet switch. I purchased this switch for my Entertainment center to give Ethernet to my Xbox, Cable Box, PS3, & PS4. All of the systems I have connected to this switch have a great signal throughout the whole center. This switch can easily carry 1 gbps of data through, and split it easily. I love the metal housing and construction of this product, which makes it durable, sturdy, and reliable. I have had this switch for a month now and I've been happy with it every single second.

PROS:
- Speeds remain constant and strong through all ports.
- Can easily run 1 Gbps of data, and split it without signal degradation.
- Metal Housing
- Small & Sleek

CONS:
- None that I can think of

I would definately purchase this switch again.
HIGHLY recommended.

I can see why these are green rated. They run cool as can be compared to my netgear one. Speed is just as fast, so I bought a second one.

Summary - Solid performance and Reliability. Great cost.
The problem - for Home Video files a large amount of bandwidth is necessary to support the transfer of data. This was congesting the wireless network. I also had three devices to connect: a Bluray player; a Apple TV, and a Roku.
The solution - the use of this switch in conjunction with an Apple Airport Router Airport Extreme 802.11N (5TH GEN)and a Slingbox SlingLink Slinglink Turbo 1PORT Enet Connection Bridge (SL 150-100).
The implementation - Since the Airport has limited wired router ports, and they were all used, I utilized one switch to unload the router and the second switch to distribution the data from the slinglink.
Complications - I only had one issue. Since I have Directv, the Directv everywhere protocol did NOT like the fact that it was hooked to a switch and not the router. This caused the the Directv to tell me on my iPad that my Directv was on a different network. The solution was to plug the Directv Ethernet connection directly into the Airport. After that, no issues.
Notes - I did read where some people have tired to use a switch in front of their router and after their cable modem. Since most data providers prevent this in their modem software, this is typically not possible. This is no fault of the switch.
Performance - I was streaming on to my iPad through wireless (SD), streaming on the Apple TV (HD), on the Roku (SD), and the Bluray (HD). There was no desegregation of image quality. Although I was switching between streams on my LG, I saw no dropouts.

I needed a gigabit switch for my home network and wanted something that wouldnt drink electricity like it was going out of style. This is perfect as it works well and uses very little power. Its a sturdy black metal housing that looks and feels like quality. I have a feeling it will last a long time.

bought this cause i have a xbox360 and a ps3 and was aggravated by swiching the cat5 cable from one to the other. this truly is plug and play. no disks in the box. just the swich and power cable. very easy. only down side is it is really small. keep in mind if you are going to do a set up like mine that it has 5 ports. one has to have the cat 5 connected to the internet then that gives you 4 other ports for web surfing fun.

Bought this ethernet switch so that I can hook up two computers to the internet. Works perfectly fine, just remember to purchase another ethernet unless you already have one, so that you can hook the switch to the ethernet jack, and then another ethernet cable(s) to hook up your other devices.

So far, this switch has been working perfectly for me, it even has a energy saving option that might be useful for people looking to cut down on some energy bills, it does however require that you plug a jack into the wall to power the switch.

The switch is pretty well built, and solid, I am surprised at how small it is, you can fit it into the palm of your hand, and it's very easy to conceal. Plus there are lights that blink to show that you have a internet connection on the devices that are connected to the switch.

Overall I recommend this switch if you need to connect a few devices to the internet by ethernet, however if you need more than 5 ports, buy one that has more.
