Pros:
* Inexpensive
* Easy to Set-up / Configure
* Has all Basic Features (Port Forwarding, Access Restriction, DMZ ect)
* Good Range
* Consistent Transfer Rates and Up-Time
* 802.11-N!

Cons:
* Lacks Gigabit for Ethernet Ports
* Limited to 300mb/s wireless transfer rate
* Does not support DD-WRT Custom Firmware

I bought this router for my parents, who needed to network a few computers, a printer and a DVR. I did not need a high-end wireless router, so I did some research and decided to go with the TrendNet, which was on sale for under $20 dollars. The product arrived very quickly and was easy to un-box and set-up. It only took me a few minutes to set-up and configure.

The Router's web interface was straight-forward and I had no trouble finding any of the features. I was impressed with the range of this router, which was able to cover most of my house, and even my backyard. The Data wireless transfer rates were okay, but only go up to 300/mbs. I do not mind since I do not perform many file transfers or big downloads over wireless. I was a bit disappointed over the lack of Gigabit (1000mb) for LAN files transfers, but I'm not going to play for what I had to pay for this router.

All in all I think this router is a great buy for the money. It is easy to set-up (even if you are not very tech savvy) and supports basic features you would need to get a home network by.

I'll spare readers the details of my travails with past unsuccessful attempts to install wireless routers. Suffice it to say that TRENDnet's TEW-731BR brought a welcome end to my frustration. The time spent to install this router into the modem & PC running Vista 64 bit to which it is wired, plus the time spent to bring two remote PCs (one XP 32 bit, one Vista 64 bit) online via wireless connections, totaled about 30 minutes! The installation Wizard did it all; I simply followed the quick-start directions to the letter. Two takeaway lessons: (i) The TEW-731BR is priced at the low end of the wireless router pricing universe. Lesson to be learned: there is no necessary correlation between price and performance (but you knew that already). (ii) Persons whose sole objective is to establish a local wireless network and to access the internet as rapidly and painlessly as possible are likely to be pleased with this product. I have found the endless blathering of techies whose "reviews" cavil over the pejorative ambiance of conjunctions in user manuals to be a needless and unwelcome distraction.

I bought this router on sale with a great deal. this router is great i have another one in my house (att uverse router)and i was using but with this router i get more download speed than the other one but the signal strength is not that great the other one i had before i could use it from my basement and my router always was in 2nd floor in an apartment but with this one i can't use from my basement anymore..additional i can get the signal(3,4 bars out of 5) from 1st floor so if anyone living in a house i don't think it gonna be a problem for you. other than this is a great router if you buy it under $25!! i gave it 4 star but if the signal was great i would definitely give it 5 no question ask.. thanks

I bought it to replace a wireless router that caused many issues watching Netflix and Amazon on Demand via a Roku box.

This device has been installed for a couple of months and it has not crashed, locked up or lost signal.

Netflix / Amazon are smooth as can be, with no freezing or buffering.

FYI: Only one wall / 20 Feet between the router and the Roku.

I have a 300Mbps wireless-n network card in a media server system. wireless-n built into my Sharp Aquos TV. I also have a Netgear wireless-g router that connects at 54Mbps. I bought this TRENDnet TEW-731BR to provide a wireless-n 300Mbps connection to my media server. The media server connects to the TEW-731BR at around 144Mbps - which is certainly a higher data rate than the 54Mbps I get through the Netgear wireless-g. However, my Netgear wireless-g at 54Mbps plays all videos smoothly, where as the TEW-731BR is always choppy - constantly. I've tried setting the TEW-731BR specifically to every possible individual channel, I've tried auto channel, I've limited the router to wireless-n only - no matter what I try playing videos through the TEW-731BR is choppy to the point it's not worth watching. So, back to the Netgear wireless-g router and smooth video. I also noticed that my computer sends out an enormous amount of data when connected to the TEW-731BR (just sitting there idle) - where the Netgear wireless-g does not. I'm really disappointed in the TEW-731BR. I didn't think it would perform so poorly. I certainly expected better performance from wireless-n than I get from wireless-g. Bottom line - I would not recommend this router.

UPDATE: July 14,2012:
Returned the TRENDnet TEW-731BR. Purchased the Netgear WNDR3700v3 - works great. Get mixed mode wireless and video plays smooth - I like the routers built in USB/DLNA server. So...you get what you pay for - and you pay for what you get.
