Probably of interest to hard-core P-funk or Hendrix fans,

This review is from: TRIBUTE TO JIMI HENDRIX (Audio CD)
This CD contains what the title implies, namely various songs inspired by Hendrix and his style by assorted P-Funk guitar players and associates, past and present, such as Eddie Hazel, Michael Hampton, Blackbyrd (sp?), etc. The quality of the tunes and playing ranges from middling to inspired, but the CD as a whole is probably of interest only to hard-core P-Funk and/or Hendrix fans. There is little, if any, actual Hendrix, sampled or otherwise, on this CD. Also, there is some commentary by George Clinton that, regardless of one's opinion of Public Enemy, I personally put a good deal of stock in, considering the source. THINK! It ain't illegal yet!

Middle of the road,

The CD starts out with some spoken word about Jimi and where it all began. Than breaks into Jimi riffs, loops and Dubs. It's fine and dandy. over all it's a nice ride. The only thing I dislike is the spoken word at the end where they say "Jimi's band would be like Public Enemy If he were around to day....." My god lets hope not. I can't really see Jimi clock'n' rock'n' or shock'n'. ya dig......stay groovy. Peace and Happiness,Happiness,Happiness..........
