Need a surge protector that works with all foreign plugs? I throw one of these in my suitcase when I travel internationally. It solves multiple problem. The sockets accepts US or any foreign plugs. Acts as a surge protector. Adds additional outlets for your travel electronics. It's useable in the US too.

Be sure your devices accept the local voltage before use. It is not a voltage converter. The voltage requirements of devices are written on the device or adapter.

This version has a wall plug for Germany or France. Note, the sockets are not recessed but I never find that an issue.

This is actually a great gift for a travel warrior or host.

When I travel in Europe I bring two cameras, a DVR, and a netbook computer. Each has a charger rated for 100-240 volts so no transformers are needed. With this surge strip I can charge everything overnight from one electric outlet in my B&B, hostel, or hotel room. Normally there is only one outlet available in a room so this power strip is really necessary. Sometimes I must unplug a lamp to have access to an outlet. The strip has six "universal" grounded outlets which accept American and European plugs. The cord has the continental European grounded plug so no plug adapter is needed. It also has an on-off switch and a resettable overload circuit breaker for safety.

American power strips are rated for only 110 volts. They are a potential fire hazard when used with Europe's 240 volt electricity.

We got this for our fifth trip to Bali, which uses Euro plugs and 220V current. As a serious underwater photographer I'm amazed I didn't get this sooner. I was using nearly every outlet on this every night, recharging my camera, light, image bank, etc. plus running my shaver and whatnot. It was up to the challenge, was surprisingly light, and the clever sockets did indeed accommodate a wide variety of plugs. Bringing this let us leave a bunch of adapters at home. And our hotel rooms often had just one outlet outside the bathroom, making this an essential item in our baggage. Yet here in the States you could use this just fine with this simple addition of one American plug adapter. Highly recommended.

This product is great for traveling abroad to countries that use the circular 2 prong outlets. It allows you to plug in multiple products without needing adapters for each one. This works perfectly for most electronic items made today- cell phone chargers, camera chargers and computers chargers. These products generally can work on a range of 110- 220 v and will be labeled as such. However, if you have a product that does not have this internal conversion- do not plug it into this outlet. The surge strip will not convert the power and you risk your wire sparking/burning out. As long as you keep that in mind you'll be fine. This is the best thing that I packed for a recent trip to Rwanda.

We moved overseas for four months. We brought 5 ipods, 2 digital cameras, three laptops, 3 cellphones, and with this very helpful device we never had any problems keeping all devices charged. You will need a small converter as well.

I travel to Europe twice a year for work - and this is by far the BEST when you travel.

There are quite a few here on amazon - but this works flawless.... if other people reported problems, the socket in the wall was pretty bad. I've been using this for the past six months without a doubt hands down is 100% perfect !!!!

As a frequent traveler I have been frustrated over the years when I forgot my travel adapter or needed more than one. With this power strip packed in my bag when I travel I have plenty of outlets for cameras, cell phone and computer chargers.

Now I just need to be sure that my hotel has a european style two prong outlet to plug the strip into. On a recent trip to South Africa, two of my hotels had the proper plug and at a thrid hotel I borrowwed the South African adapter from the front desk. But, I still had my six outlets so I could charge all of my electronics simultaniously.

It seems a little big, but if you travel with multiple electronic items you will appreciate being able to plug in six charger transformers side by side giving you the convenience of charging all your gadgets at once rather than one at a time. The convenient switch allows you to safely prevent overcharging your items.

I recently bought another for my niece who doing a semester of college abroad. She uses the power strip in her dorm room and has a safe way to get power to all of her vital tools, laptop, Ipod, cell phone, etc., and has outlets left over to share with her roommate.

I do a lot of oversea traveling. Things like my laptop, hard drives, cell phone, and local product all need a different plugs. But this allows US and more to fit right in with out have to get single attachments. It only work with 220v. I would buy it again.

This is likely a must have for families travelling through Europe and staying at modest lodgings. We stayed at a few that had one outlet & this allowed the phone & multiple cameras to be charged at one time. Remember the UK & Ireland use a 3 pronged system so an adapter to convert this unit is needed there.

Good quality construction, has taken US, German, French, Chinese and Japanese plugs with no issue.

Great time saver if you work in an international office. I work for a US company in Switzerland and we get a lot of visiters from other offices. We are in a small office so anyone I know tends to park in my office. Each new guest seemed to not have an adapter for Switzerland, so I spent 15 mins a week looking for an adapter to help them out. So this universal power strip takes any plug from any of our global offices, and I save a lot of time.
