Most of the supposed History questions are about which actors played historical characters. An Arts and Literature question was about which celebrity was on the cover of People's Most Beautiful edition in a given year. Sports and Leisure: which famous actor started out as a skateboarder? A science question was about what a phobia that Johnny Depp suffers from is a fear of... There are very few questions that can't be tied to modern celebrities in some way. I'm very disappointed!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time October 20, 2011

This is not the same as the game I know and enjoy. The questions in this version appear to be largely entertainment, and recent at that. What a disappointment. After trying the game, I called Amazon and cancelled my order. Unless you are very young and immersed in current popular culture, don't waste your time and money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic Game done pretty well October 14, 2011
Verified Purchase
First off, I stink at trivia. This was confirmed when I lost to a single easy computer. This game works well on the kindle and I enjoyed playing it. Games includes 3 modes; Classic: which is your normal trivial pursuit, you can select if you want a computer opponent to play against and their difficulty as well as how many tokens you need to win. Pursuit Mode: which is a single player mode where you try to get from start to finish in the least amount of questions. You can move 1-6 spaces depending on how quickly you answer and even if you get it wrong you still move 1 space. At the end it gives you 1, 2, or 3 stars depending on how many questions you saw. Pass N play is a group mode that you can play with your friends. In pass n play mode you can still select Classic or Pursuit mode.

So now you ask me why did I give a less than perfect score if it was done so well? I have a few complaints that prompted me to give a less than 5-star review. First, when you're playing with a computer opponent there is no way to skip by what the computer is doing. You have to sit their and watch, so when they keep hitting the roll again spaces over and over and over again, it starts to get boring. Having the option to click the next page button to skip the animation would be nice. Second is the dice rolling animation, it takes 4 seconds to roll the dice. This time adds up and unnecessarily adds length to the game play. I want to spend my time playing the game, not watching. One last annoyance, after rolling and you get to select what square you want to go to on the board, the selection process is backwards. It automatically selects one for you, if you want the square that appears to the left you have to hit the right side of the 5-way controller. Overall, If you like trivia this game is worth getting. I would still buy even with the annoyances. Thanks for reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars love this game October 14, 2011

I have always loved this game. I was so glad to see it for the kindle. I think Electronic Arts did a great job with this game. There are 3 modes of play: Classic, Pursuit, and Pass 'N Play.
Classic mode needs no explanation as we all have played it at one time or another. I do like the fact that you can decide if you want to play against the kindle or by yourself. You can also choose how many wedges to be earned (1 - 6) and also if you can earn them only on the "Headquaters" space or on any space you land on. You can choose the strength of the kindle player (easy, medium, hard) and you can even decide if you want to limit the time needed to answer questions by using the timer feature. Kindle will save your game if you should have to stop before finishing it.
Pursuit mode is a quicker way to play. The game board is not round and has a beginning and an end. You are given a set amont of time to answer questions. You can play alone or with the kindle. You earn stars for completing each level. The amount of stars is determined by how many questions it takes to get to the end of the gamne. Kindle also saves your progress in this mode too.
If you choose Pass 'N Play then you can play with another "human" being and you can choose which of the above modes you want to play. The kindle saves your stats except in the pass 'n play mode. You press the jostick to roll the dice and then all your possible moves are indicated by the kindle. You use your joystick to choose which one you want to land on.
All in all it is a good game and I was not disappointed with it. I didn't notice any lagging with the Kindle at all.

1.0 out of 5 stars None November 9, 2011
This is just too dumbed down. A history question asked about a rap song, art and literature about The View... there is such a thing as TOO trivial. If you prefer National Geographic over People Magazine, just steer clear of this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars What is the deal with Buffy the Vampire Slayer? June 21, 2012
By Julia

I love trivia and this game is entertaining enough. It isn't very difficult. I do wonder why so many of the Entertainment questions reference Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I would like to see another version that is more challenging like the real game. If you aren't too picky, you will have fun with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good and trivial December 27, 2011
Verified Purchase
I do not agree they are just using new pop culture for all catagories. Seemed like regular trivial pursuit. Plays just like on my iPod. Maybe they had a different version out but fixed it ? I do think that maybe they should loose the board game style for electronic devices and maybe simplify it. A good game and well worth it.
