A nice mix of Trivia and Logic,

In this variation of Workdoku (The Official Book of Wordoku #2: Sudoku Puzzles for Word Lovers (Wordoku), The Official Book of Wordoku #3: Sudoku Puzzles for Word Lovers, etc., also by the same author), the grid is composed of nine distinct letters instead of digits. You're also given a trivia clue where the answer is a nine letter word/phrase hidden in the puzzle. The trivia clues are taken from Trivial Pursuit (which edition is unclear). Solving the trivia clue helps you solve one of the rows or columns, or else can appear in a diagonal. Even if you don't know the trivia answer, the puzzles are still solvable.At this point, I've only worked the first few puzzles but it still looks to be a great break from the regular 9 x 9 Sudoku. If you're a real trivia fan though, I would suggest Trividoku which keeps the number puzzle aspect of Sudoku and adds in trivia matching.

Although I like Frank Longo's puzzles, and I like Word-dukos, this book left me a bit cold, as the result is an answer to a question. When I look at the question and immediately know the answer, there is no fun in solving the puzzle. So far, I have known about half of the answers immediately, so those puzzles are worthless to me. To me, the fun of the word-duko is the solution at the end, and I don't get that from these puzzles.
