1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid the Collector's Edition December 8, 2010
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3|Edition:Collector
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Just go buy the standard game instead of this. The lightcycle model is made out of a very cheap-looking plastic. There's a hidden button on the lower back of the rider that makes the bike light up when you press it but it's still not that impressive looking. It's painted like a Hallmark ornament. Seriously, the $15 toy Spinmaster lightcycles are superior to it. Even the box it was packaged in is far more impressive to look at. Sideshow Collectibles used to make some really good high-end collectibles but this isn't "high-end" at all except in price only and the quality is definitely not worth paying the extra $70 for even though the $10 movie coupon kind of softens the blow. I regret buying this and will try to sell it on ebay to recoup some of the loss.

4.0 out of 5 stars Game and Lightcycle collectible - pretty decent overall February 9, 2011
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3| Edition:Collector|Verified Purchase
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Lightcycle Review: I've uploaded some images of the actual Lightcycle collectible, as it was really hard for me to gauge whether or not this was a worthwhile item or not. Hopefully, these images will help others decide. The collectible is not nearly as bad as many have made it out to be. It's a mixture of black rubber-like components & black plastic. Obviously, since it's representing something that doesn't have any real texture (in the movie), it's not going to be loaded with detail.

Having waited to get this until the price dropped, I'd say that $80 is a good price point for this. I would understand how some might have felt burned for paying $130. But, even then, I would have to say that it's far more 'adult' a collectible than the toy Lightcycle, which didn't seem that great to me. Besides, you can turn on the light on the Tron Evolution Lightcycle and leave it on for display, whereas it seemed to me that the toy is a press-and-it-lights (temporarily) event.

Yes, you heard that right: it DOES light-up. There is a soft-switch well-hidden button in the lower-back of the back of the rider. When lit, it spotlights the front wheel, the engine, and the rider's disc. Now, it would have been ideal if the entire length of blue lines lit like in the movie, ..and maybe really tops if the blue in the display lit-up (neither is true). But, for what it is, it's decent. Certainly, being a big Tron Legacy fan, I'm glad I got it ...and a bit perturbed at all the negative reviews that really slammed this product.

Game Review: Having bought the non-collector copy of the game (as well) months back when it released, I've played through a good amount of it to give a fair assessment. It's not the best game ever; it's certainly not the worst movie tie-in ever, either.

4.0 out of 5 stars Game great, but light cycle bad March 11, 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3| Edition:Collector|Verified Purchase
I love this franchise and the game as well. However, the light cycle appears to be a cheap piece of plastic and that's all. Thought it might have more detail and was really hoping that it would have lit up. But to my dismay, it does not.

5.0 out of 5 stars For fifteen bucks you can beat it. February 10, 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3| Edition:Collector|Verified Purchase
This is a neat collectors edition. I would not pay no mor than twenty bucks or you will be kicking yourself. The torn cycle seems a bit plasticky cheap but it does illuminate well in the dark.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great item January 28, 2013

Love the packaging and light cycle, however gameplay is a little rough. Still an enjoyable game, but might want to look elsewhere unless you are merely a Tron story fan

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete waste of money February 20, 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3| Edition:Collector|Verified Purchase
I was sucked in by the novelty factor. I then moved house and ended up throwing everything away except for the DVD.

We got this for my 5 year old son because for some reason he fell into a TRON phase. That packaging is nice and reflective. The Light Cycle actually lights up, but it took us a few days to find the switch (its on up behind the seat). The case the light cycle sits in is durable and has a handy drawer to hold the game. My son really likes the way the light cycle lights up in his room in the dark. The light is even through out the cycle and a perfect color of blue.

The game however, was not exciting enough to keep him nor I entertained. We would up getting rid of the game but kept the light cycle and case.

3.0 out of 5 stars poor quality but a must have July 28, 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3| Edition:Collector|Verified Purchase
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
the game itself is not to bad to play , like most games are at first , after a bit of time it became easier but i felt it lacked that ' play me now ' factor . i soon put it away to collect dust.

as for the collectors edition , it is a must have , even though the model is poor quality but it looks kinda ok , i wouldn't pay a huge amount for it , if you like futuristic ( might be wrong spelling ) looking models it would suit that type of collection , but don't expect a highly detailed model , this hasn't got it
