These levers are impressive. I would compare them to the SRAM s500 levers, but I honestly prefer the TRP levers. The shape of the levers make them easy to reach from the hood or the drop. The rubber offers really good grip and feels great. The hoods are shaped very well and fit my medium sized hands well. These came with inserts to change the mounting angle from upward (classic) to flat (modern). The braking power and consistancy is excelent! The quick release is snazzy and works well. The packaging was very nice and it came with very helpful instructions. I highly recommend these for your Single Speed, Fixed Gear or Downtube shifting bike.

I had a pretty close call bombing down a mountain because some jackass was salmoning and decided I wanted to upgrade to racing class braking power. I purchased these levers with TRP r920 brakes. The stopping power is incredible now! I also highly recommend the r920 brakes, they are lighter than dura ace and stop just as well for $150.

The first thing that I want to say about these levers is that the offset style of the lever blades makes them look awesome once installed. If you install them slightly tilted in (which provides better ergonmics for your wrists) the bottoms of the blades will stick out slightly beyond the drop of standard road bars.

Now, the ergonomics. I'm about 6'2" and have what I feel are normal sized hands for my height. The hoods look small, but my hands wrap them perfectly. They feel a lot like the smaller tops of 5700 105 or 6700 Ultegra without the very wide bottom portion. The curves of the brake lever blade provide great positional to wrap a finger around and the rest underneath comfortably.

The design of the release on these levers is pretty slick. There is a single push button for each lever on the inside that releases the lever to make it easier to disconnect your brakes or just provide more clearance around your wheels. Unlike other levers where you have a sliding barrel that you need to put back into position to unrelease the lever, this one is spring loaded. The next time you pull the brake levers back to the original position, it locks them back into the unreleased state.

The feel: simply solid.
