Several years ago I discovered "cargo pants". I fell in love with them for their ability to carry a lot of stuff. After a few years of experience, I think I sort of became a connoisseur of pants with many pockets. The Tru-Spec 24/7 lightweight "tactical" pants fill the bill as my favorites. Why? Well, they are made of lightweight rip-stop poly-cotton fabric which is strong, resists fading and stains and is heavy enough for most days year round in my area. On the hottest days of summer, I wear the shorts equivalent of these pants. The poly-cotton fabric is almost indestructible but, being mostly polyester, would likely suffer some melting/burning from campfire sparks or errant embers from smoker's noxious tobacco.

The pants are comfortable with an adjustable fit due to the inclusion of a wide elastic slider band in the waistline. This allows the pants to expand and contract with various movement as well as with fluctuations in the wearer's girth. There are a lot of pockets on these pants. The cargo pockets and rear pockets use industrial strength Velcro for closure. You won't lose what you've put in these pockets if you secure the flap closures. The cargo pockets are also gusseted so they will expand but lay completely flat when empty (aided by a small Velcro patch). The front pockets are deep and wide. Extremely deep and wide. Big items can fit easily in these pockets. On each side there are small open top pockets on the thighs that accommodate standard sized pocket knifes or other small tools. Inside both pants legs are knee pouches that can take knee pads for those times you will be crawling or kneeling on hard surfaces (but no pads come with the pants).

Compared to the 5.11 brand, I've owned both the poly-cotton and 100% cotton models of those.

I really like these pants. I've bought a couple of pairs of 24-7 pants previously from a discounter for about $18 a pair so I knew what to expect. I like them enough that I was willing to pay $45 or so for a pair in a color I couldn't find cheap, black.

I like these pants for all the pockets. They are easier to fit into my wardrobe than BDUs. These pants have no drawstrings on the pant legs. The The cell phone pocket is snug for my old flip phone and probably too small for an iphone. The material is a bit noisy, as someone else commented. The pockets are all secured with velcro as well, so these are not the best choice for stealth. The slider waist band is very comfortable.

Ordered and received pants in record time.
Material and quality of construction very good.
Biggest glitch is the sizing of the pants. Ordered 36x32 based on what I have ordered for many years. Unfortunately the "Waist Range" fit is like "36-39" so you end up with considerable amount of excess waist room. Also the leg length is exactly 32".
I subsequently ordered another pair but went with a 34x34. They arrived and fit great in the leg but I ended up with a very tight waist, thought the 34's would go "34-36" but do not.
Apparently I fall in the odd frame of 35x33. I also tried to "shrink" the pants but they do not shrink.
Any ways As I said good quality and material but sizing is a real shot in the dark.

I like that these can be purchased by waist and length size, not just XL, L, M, S...etc like some other tactical pants. I wear these way more than I should, but I can't help it; I love them.

First off, I love them and will have to get a few other pairs or I'll be wearing these all-the-time.

Few things, I measured my hips and they are 38 inches, but I wear 36's jeans and after a summer of bike riding down to 34 inches. But I said, I can't be that off, so I got the 36's. I wish I had got the 34's.

They have a great slider elastic band, best part! So they fit even though they are slightly too big.

I wish the phone pocket was about 1/4 deeper. They would fit my old flip phone perfectly, but are a wee bit small for a smart phone. It still closes, but some of the velcro shows when closed.

The knife pocket is too narrow for my SOG Aegis, but after watching the Nutnfancy video, I knew that before I bought them. They might be good for a flashlight.

They are also kinda noisy, but expected from the fabric. So, don't expect to sneak-up up on anyone. ;)

I bought a pair of these pants about 5 years ago to wear in IDPA competitions and immediately fell in love. I've been wearing the pants for work and they are perfect. I like them so much that I decided to get another pair. The pants have plenty of pockets to store stuff. The pockets all lay flat so that they don't bulge until you put something in them. The pants are very durable. My original pair look brand new after several washings. I highly recommend these pants.

First off, these are fantastic pants. The pockets, fit, quality are great. My only complaint is with the color olive drab (it isn't; don't believe the color swatch on your computer monitor, folks). It's almost a Border Patrol green or a "spruce green". The odd part is, I have an olive drab TruSpec boonie 2 ("Hat, Sun, Hot Weather Type II") that is also poly/cotton ripstop and the color is actually olive drab. The color of these pants are - different - brighter, and getting even lighter the more they are washed. If anybody from TruSpec is reading this, please make the pants a darker OD color. I can't comment on the other colors, so maybe it's just a problem with the OD.
