True Result Blood Glucose Starter kit consists of
1. Glucose Meter
2. 10-starter lancets ( needles )
3. 1-Lancing device for piercing with 5-7 depth positions to adjust for your skin thickness, supports finger and arm position.
4. Control Solution-1 (its artificial blood sample with certain glucose in it to check strips)
5. 10-starter test strips
6. Product manual and accessory bag.

I ordered it online and it was good deal but guess what you get what you pay. The starter kit has expiry date on it. The online merchant shop4diabetics shipped me expired starter kit box. Expiry : Dec 2010, Sold in Apr 2011. ( over 4 months past expiry)

What does expiry really mean.
- Yes the glucose meter will still work
- You should not use control solution as it is most likely expired
- you should not use 10-starter test strips ( order seperate test strips from bargain_otc they sold me un-expired test strips )

I was wondering what happens if you use expired test-strips (less than 6 months after expiry)
- well it passed control test with expired control solution (glucose control)
- I got expected glucose count when testing with real blood.

Bottom line TrueResult aand TrueTest is the best Glucose testing after researching and trying it.

Quick Comparision with other products:
TrueResult or True2go uses only 0.5 micro liter of blood, yes tiny droplet. Prior to that my doctor gifted me one-touch and i never used it as it requires 1 micro liter of blood. Some of you may say it does not matter , I would say this matters if you have to use same finger several times in week or month, small hole in skin heals faster.
Cost comparision: TrueTest strips are lowest cost I found without any discount and most advanced technology compared to others.

I purchased the Trueresult meter as a second meter because I was looking for a meter that took the smallest blood sample for alternate site testing. I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in the beginning of May so I have not been taking samples long. One thing I am tired of the pain from pricking my finger tips. Even though I have been using the One Touch Delica lancer with the smallest diameter needle, it still hurts. Using alternate sites like palm or forearm it was difficult to get 1 microliter drop. The Trueresult meter only requires .5 microliter drop which I can get easily using Accu-chek Multiclix lancer with the tip for alternate site testing. Compared to the One Touch Ultra 2 meter I had been using, I get virtually the same results with a smaller blood sample. The Ultra 2 meter did seem to have more options for how to save data, but I don't need that because I have an app for my Droid X phone that saves my blood glucose level readings.

My starter kit did not include glucose control solution. I had to order it separately. The test strips that were included had not expired and were still good.

I highly recommend this meter if you are like me and want to do pain free testing and need a meter that will work with a smaller blood sample than most of the meters on the market. The only downside to this meter is that you will need to purchase test strips and glucose control solution online as most brick and mortar pharmacies do not carry this brand of meter or supplies.
