Product Description

TruRoots Organic Sprouted Bean Trio is a unique colorful and delicious blend of nutritious sprouted lentils, mung, and adzuki beans. Sprouting is a technique of traditional cultures that boosts the nutritional profile-increasing vitamins and micronutrients. The process results in pre-digestion of complex proteins, starches and lipids, converting them into simple and essential components that make these beans much easier to digest. We sprout and dehydrate the highest-quality beans and lentils, awakening their flavor and preserving healthful benefits. truRoots low-temperature drying keeps them packed with power. Lower in sodium and higher in nutrition than canned beans, truRoots Organic Sprouted Bean Trio is a healthy choice. Versatile, convenient, and quick, truRoots Organic Sprouted Bean Trio is ready in 15 minutes. Or slowly simmer in a soup or stew. Try it in salads, grain dishes, burritos, casseroles, stuffings or your favorite bean dish.

Added lemon juice and olive oil and this made a great soup.

It depends on how you like your beans, but I do 20+ minutes simmering at low heat, and let it set 10-15 minutes.

The sprouted combo is extremely nutritious and easy to digest, plus it has great flavor.

I am on board with most of the reviews for this product. Instructions say to bring to boil for 5 minutes then cover and let sit for 10. If you like your beans "al dente", then that's the way you will have them.

I cooked them for an additional 45 minutes (1 hour total) and they are pretty soft but there are some adzuki beans that do not sprout and are hard as "soft" rocks... Just be warned. They have to cook even longer to become soft and not crunchy.

Other that that, I like the beans. An yes, Costco has the same bag for under 10 bucks.

I love this product but have to admit like many other reviewers I initially had trouble cooking the beans to a desired state. Through trial and error I have arrived at the following method:
1. Place 1 cup of beans in 3 cups of cold water; do not add salt
2. Bring to a boil over medium heat; do not use high heat and do not cover the pan yet
3. When the water comes to a boil, reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 10 minutes
4. Remove from the heat; leave pan covered and let stand for 15 minutes
5. Add salt to taste the last 5 minutes of the standing time
6. Drain as needed.

I have found that the additional time it takes the uncovered pan of cold water to come to a boil at medium is key to getting the beans cooked properly. Hope this helps.

I happened upon this bag in Costco. The sprouted combo is extremely nutritious and easy to digest, plus it has great flavor. I needed something quick and simply added some garlic, turmeric, and paprika for flavor and added cooked rice. Next time will add some other vegies like celery, onions, carrots, maybe even a few potatoes. The possibilities are endless. I even think it would make good taco or burrito filling.

I absolutely love this stuff. I mix it with a bunch of other ingredients - roasted corn, edamame, black beans, quinoa, and scallions. I add a little olive oil and some salt and pepper. Generally, I heat it and add just a tiny bit of low-fat shredded Mexican blend cheese and a tablespoon of sour cream. I mix it all up and enjoy!

My husband got a bag from a large warehouse club. The beans took 3X longer to cook than as stated in the directions. However, they were very tasty in a lamb stew. Even my carnivorous son asked for seconds. There are certain beans with thick tough skin that I avoid. The skin on these sprouted beans are very thin and thus did not have this issue. It may be a bit pricey but the taste, nutritional value and the relative ease of cooking is worth it!

Love these hot in soup, and cold in salads, a great way to get protein in without the grain factor or meat
