I am an older skater (mid 30's) and these are the best pads I have ever owned. As good as the best technology (Pro Design) we had back in the 80s/90s for a very reasonable price.

I use these knee pads for roller derby and they are fantastic. We do lots of falling drills where we go down on one or both knees from a full speed skate, and these feel like landing on pillows. They are a little more pricey than other knee pads, but well worth it.

I've played roller derby for a little over a year now. When I first joined, I had some Protec pads. I injured my right knee from a hard knee fall. I then moved on to some Vectors because they seemed to have much more cushion. I injured the other knee with a similar hard fall. I've had the TSG's for about 6 months, and I have little to no knee pain. They have the perfect amount of padding, but don't stick out and interfere with cross-overs. In my opinion, the TSG III's are the best for derby!

I got these as my first set of pads for Roller Derby. While first trying out, I was using pro-tec pads. Very thin cushioning. If you weren't falling on purpose, you definitely felt it. Ordered these TSG's and happy as can be. No matter which direction I'm falling, I'm landing on clouds. I gave them a four simply because the pads move a bit if you fall at an angle so I have to readjust them. Not that big of a set back, though.

I use these for Derby too and I LOVE them. I have fallen...Often and they Rock!!! If I had these years ago My knees would be in much better shape I am 38 wish i had them when i was 13 and on. Love em... Like falling on soft puffy clouds...baby kittens....what ever makes you think soft and pain free!!

I have played roller derby for 4 years now. I originally started with the 187's and when those wore out I purchased a pair of Pro Tecs. BIG MISTAKE!!! I wound up with some nasty bruises and a gnarly hematoma on my knee because they did not stay on my knee and what little coverage they did provide was not nearly enough. I recently ordered the TSG's and it was the best investment I have made since beginning Derby. These are great for the rink or the park (I skate in the parks also) I strongly urge anyone thinking of purchasing new pads to go with the TSG's..! You will not be disappointed:) I wore a medium in the 187's and a small in the Pro tecs, I ordered a small in the TSG's because I had read and heard that they ran a bit big. The smalls fit me great with room to stretch a bit and accomodate a knee gasket or a brace provided it is not hinged!!
