Yep it's a key ring. Yep it holds keys and other stuff. The "key-shackle" works well. So far I haven't lost any keys. The four "CleverClips" that are included are a different story. Occasionally when I pull my keys from my pocket the things on on the "CleverClips" will go flying. If hadn't noticed them hitting the pavement they would've been lost. So the "CleverClips" are almost worthless, in my opinion. Overall, not worth the money but useful.

This kit consists of a nice split-ring, 4 hooks and a horseshoe-shaped key holder.

Upon first inspection, I wan't impressed with the horseshoe thing. It feels a little too lightweight and the keys are held in place by a flat head screw (which is conveniently not shown in the picture). Since this would be where house keys go, and screws do come loose, I don't trust this piece enough as I'd like to.

The hooks appear sturdy enough but I found my EDC 4Sevens Mini 123 R5 Edition unhooked in my pocket after only a few days of use. This is not acceptable!

To sum it up, both the house-key holder and the hooks are primed for failure. This would be fine for keys that you don't carry very often but not "the keys".

I purchased this item because it looked sturdy and would help me organize my keys and hold my Leatherman micra and Fenix LD01 flashlight. Initially it seemed to be working well but after around two weeks I noticed that my flashlight and Micra kept slipping out of the utility holders and remain in my pocket when I pulled out my keys. I should have returned to my old simple metal ring system earlier because today I lost my Fenix. I don't recommend that anyone purchases this product unless the ring attached to the tool you connect to this device is thick. The narrow ring slipped out too easily. Unfortunately both the micra and Fenix have holes to small to attach a larger ring. So this product went into the drawer and i'm looking to purchase a new flashlight.

I bought this item for the small clips and they are durable and work well. I put small keyrings in the holes of the clips and attached to those small keyrings: my peanut lighter from county comm, a Photon Micro-Light II with the white led, a fox forty sonic blast whistle, a micro recon 1 keychain knife and a Valiant Concepts keychain pen. These clips make items on your keyring easier to take off and put on.
By the way, to work with the small keyrings without hurting your nails, use a staple removing tool to hold the keyrings open easier.

I read some lukewarm reviews on this before I bought it but I have too many keys that I take off and put back on regularly so I was willing to try anything. My experience is that it has been exactly what I needed.

What I like:
I have had 0 (ZERO) hardware failures in 6 months even while I take keys off and on at least three times a day and 5-6 days a week. I tried a ball bearing latch/release key ring and it failed in less than a month, twice with different brands.

It doesn't look sturdy but after awhile in pocket it seems like it is. The idea of a screw holding important keys in place doesn't appeal to me, even now. But it hasn't come loose, yet. The looped wire (cleverclips?) at first glance don't seem that tough but they're surprisingly strong. The hook part is almost unbreakable.

The "cleverclips" are EXTREMELY easy to get keys off and on. It seems strange that it works so well for me, but it does. While I've lost keys before because I just dropped them in my pocket without latching because it was such a hassle, I haven't lost keys and haven't had any close calls since getting this. Because it is easy, I don't balk at putting the keys back every time and it just seems to work as designed. I suspect that maybe one in a million times I carry this key chain a key will slip off but like I said, I haven't had issues and it has been the best solution for me yet by far.

I've stretched out a couple "classic" key rings in less time than I've had this set. I'm really hard on my key rings and I like this one for not having to worry.

What I don't like:

There should be more CleverClips. There just isn't enough. I can't dock the product based on this though since I knew how many I would be getting and only know now that I should have more.
I still don't trust a screw holding my keys in place. It moves around when I walk and that seems like it will eventually loosen it all. It hasn't yet, though.

I bought this keychain about three months ago, and I am very satisfied with this product. Due to the nature of my work, I am constantly receiving and giving keys to my boss. Having to transfer them to and from a keychain ring was getting old, so I started looking for an alternative and found this. It works great, because I can easily add and subtract keychain rings with ease. Occasionally I am given an individual key, and while the clips can hold a single key, I wouldn't suggest more than one or two per clip (except the permanent key holder, which can hold roughly 5 individual keys). This keychain is simple and effective, and I would suggest it to anyone looking for a gadget to organize keys.

Having to manage a number of VIK's (Very Important Keys)
I have always had some difficulty of having too much bulk.
Having too many keys I "had to carry" meant having some stabbing me in the thigh.
Removing one key for various reasons means having to take time to unwind them off the ring.

True Utility has simply made this all work just right.
They could please Goldilocks with the Key Organizer.

I carry 5 KEY keys all the time when I am upright (or while sitting typing this)
They are in the shackle.

This shackle may seem simple (and it is in principle) but it is made "Just so".
It has enough spring tension to hold the screw tight without backing off, loosing keys and just light enough to place keys in. Without all of that being "Just so" it would not work correctly.

Pieces that may have to be moved or changed can go on the gate spring clips which are also secure.

The ring overall has enough give through the system to let it relax and lay in my pocket
(instead of becoming a medieval torture device like many key rings can become.)
