Product Description

INCREASED BRIGHTNESS

Rated at up to 450 lumens, this drop-in will dramatically increase the brightness of any incandescent flashlight and many older LED flashlights. The color temperature for this light is approximately 6,200 K which means it is much closer to true daylight than regular bulbs which provides a more natural light that is easier to use.

INCREASED RUN-TIME

LEDs are much more efficient than a typical incandescent light. Increased efficiency means less unwanted heat, longer run-time and fewer changes of costly batteries. You'll likely make back the purchase price of this LED module in savings on batteries alone.

NEVER BUY A BULB AGAIN

Bulbs from the leading flashlight brands cost $30+ depending on the brightness and the manufacturer. For most incandescent bulbs it is common to be forced to change the bulb about every 4th or 5th battery change which gets extremely costly. With LED technology, you'll never have to worry about replacing a bulb and they remain just as bright on the first use as on all subsequent uses.

COMPATABILITY:

SureFire® : 6P, 9P, C2, D2, G2, G2Z, M2, and Z2 G&P® : T-6, T9, X-6, M3, R12 SpiderFire® : X03, X6V, X9V SolarForce® : L2 UltraFire® : WF-501A/B/C/D , WF-502A/B/C/D , 6P, 9P, G60, G90 HUGSBY : G2, M2, S3 Others: This should work with most flashlights that this module will fit into. Measure your flashlight to be sure.
NOTE:

This module includes two springs, an inner spring which is used to make contact with the batteries and an outer spring which is required on only some flashlights. Many flashlights such as Surefire will require the outer spring to be unscrewed from the module.

Was a pain to get working. had to remove the outer spring as indicated but then had to back the lightbulb screw off a turns to get it to contact and work.

I've been using Surefire lights now for about 10 years and the LED replacement/upgrade bulbs are well worth the money.

My halogen xenon bulb for my P6 surfire light died and I bought this as a replacement. It is approximately the same price as a standard halogen xenon bulb and appears much brighter to me - perhaps it is 450 lumens in a p9 or z3 but it was not 450 in the p6, but still much brighter than the standard 60 lumen/ 120 lumen bulbs. The light does not have as much of a pure light flood pattern but does have a flood and spot component in the beam. This spot is still plenty wide and very powerful. Installation to the 6 series lights requires the large spring to be removed, but this does not affect the light fit at all. Momentary and constant on functions work. The bulb/dish fits neatly, does not rattle and remains waterproof in the light (tested in a swimming pool at a depth of 7 feet for 60 min)

In my humble opinion this has made the Surefire P6 into a vastly superior light. The LED means long life, and is inherently impact resistant. Impact is what caused my last light to fail (end of a M4 hit a tree during a drill). I have been pretty hard on this light with the new bulb and it holds up well. It is also more energy efficient and despite putting out a massive amount of light, the heat from the bulb is far less. I highly recommend this buy as a replacement or upgrade. Painfully bright to the eyes at 20 yards. Allows the light to work BETTER for tactically blinding an opponent. I am not selling the thing, and to be honest I hardly ever write a review, but I wish I had investesd in the company that produces this replacement bulb. It is simply a fantastic product. You will not be dissapointed with this purchace.

What I like most about this LED module is that it is extremely simple. There is only one setting: BRIGHT! Many other ones I see have 3 or 5 modes, from low to bright, and then flash or SOS. I don't need or want that. I carry a smaller pocket flashlight that I use for lowlight with three settings. I like turning on my 6P or 9P and having immediate, bright light!

I use this LED drop in for both my Surefire 6P and 9P, and it is just amazing. The first one I had went into my 6P, and I was blown away by how much brighter than even my P61 bulb it was, and also by how much longer the batteries last!

After using that for a few months, I purchased a Surefire 9P, and added this module to it. I can not believe how bright that combo is! It has seriously turned my 9P into a spotlight.

This drop in is perfect for anyone looking for bright, white light and longer run times. I highly recommend it.

This R5 Single Mode 450+ Lumens LED "Drop-in" didn't work with the SureFire M952 weapon-light at first. After reading reviews and suggestions, I cut the large outer spring so it was down to one coil around the base of the bulb. This made a connection to the interior of the metal flash light from the gold (ground) area of the bulb. I had to work in the barely fitting LED bulb so that I could screw on the M952's head assembly. Though it was disappointing at first; after the modification, this baby is much brighter than the stock SureFire P60 incandescent bulb! Gives out a good beam and hopefully lasts a long time like most LED bulbs.

DO NOT BUY THIS LED DROP-IN FROM "HAPPINESS AT HOME" (SELLER)!!!

The one I bought just crapped out after about 20 minutes of use, each time only about 2-3 minutes max. Being a very curious individual, I decided to open it up and see if it was the LED or the driver board that controls the voltage and current draw. Typically the driver boards have a little coil, a chip, and some resistors, and to my astonishment the board was COMPLETELY EMPTY. These thieves wired the LED directly up to the battery without even a basic resistor to prevent the LED from pulling too much current.

I see that many stores are selling this item, so let me clarify. The seller in this case is "Happiness At Home".

Here are some photographs that clearly show a completely empty PCB on both sides.

After reading the reviews, I decided to upgrade three of my older Surefire flashlights. I had two 6Ps and a 9P. This replacement element was supposed to be a drop-in part that provided much more light and burned longer. The instructions say to remove the larger outer spring to get the bulb/reflector to fit into Surefire units. Unfortunately, the outer spring is necessary to make a connection (ground, I believe) to the outer shell of the flashlight. Even cutting a couple of coils off the supplied outer spring to allow the bezel to screw down all the way wasn't effective. When it did fit, the flashlight would not work reliably. I had to remove the outer spring from the Surefire bulb that I was replacing (not an easy task), and place it into the flashlight before screwing down the new bulb/reflector without its outer spring. Once I did that, they worked fine. Another caveat -- while the 6Ps are now significantly brighter than before, the 9P (the 3-cell version) really isn't. I got LED longevity from the new bulb, so that's a plus, but the light isn't any brighter.

I bought this as a replacement for the weak P-60 incandescent Surefire bulb (a measly 80 lumens) and reflector in my Surefire shotgun forend WeaponLight. I saw in the reviews of this bulb that some folks had to cut one of the springs to make the bulb fit in their light, but for my WeaponLight it just popped right in with no modification. This bulb is awesome, it is bright and lasts longer than the P-60, (almost 3 times as long) and by my judgement of the packaging and labels it is indeed a CREE R5 bulb and not some cheap knockoff. As far as being 450 lumens, when powered by two CR123A batteries it is brighter than my Fenix PD32, which is supposed to be about 315 lumens, so I'm happy with it. As of writing this review I've had it for about a month with no problems yet, if I encounter any I'll be sure to update this post.
If you do your research and make sure the dimensions fit, this is a 5-star product.
*Update 2/3/13: It's been about 10 months, and I've burned though about 11 battery changes and hundreds of rounds through my Mossberg 590, and this Bulb is running just as strong as the day I got it, it can take some abuse.
