voted worst...ever!,
This review is from: TV Ears 10241 Professional Listening System (Black) (Electronics)
I can only think that the poor people, who gave a good rating to this product, are so profoundly deaf that they have absolutely no idea what quality sound is like. I can't remember the last time I actually spent money on such horrible garbage. These TV Ears aren't even good enough to give to someone I hate!Ok, so here's a more technical review: When connected to the TV they give off a loud buzzing sound if you walk more than 5 feet away from the transmitter. The sound quality is inferior and tinny. Honestly, the $60.00 set I bought from Radio Shack is far better. I am beginning to think that these are based on infrared technology that CANNOT transmit through walls...although the printed material that comes with the product does not say this. Be that as it may, the physical quality is lacking. They are NOT made with anything approaching craftmanship. They are made of the cheapest materials that can be found and are flimsy beyond belief. The charging cradle is inferior, If you do not play with them and make sure they lights are on, they will not charge. Considering the price tag, I expected far, far more. Pretty much this product sucks and the company tech support sucks. The rep I talked to, Alison, wanted to know what TV output I had them plugged into. I told her the L and R RCA audio jacks. She told me the product would only work on ports labelled specifically "audio output". Now, I know a bit about electronics. THis is the same port I've had many headsets plugged into. Yet, Alison insisted it was incorrect. I encourage everyone to not waste their money on them, and I demand a full refund! UPDATE: BTW, beware! I don't know about other seller policies. But, Gizmos For Life charges a 15% restocking fee if you return them for any reason. They also expect you to pay return shipping! This means you're out ~$40.00 just because you don't like them! Gizmos for Life and any other company with like policies are low life, low quality dealers. Don't buy from them.

Works as advertised, might not be best choice,

This product definitely works as advertised. It's great that it's wireless. I purchased it for my aunt, who ended up preferring a simple pair of Sony Sports over-the-head light earphones attached by wire to the TV. The TV Ears sound quality is not as good as wired earphones, and also it's much heavier. I think they should have it be over the top of the head rather than hang down from the ears, putting pressure on the earss. Anyway, this is one of several options and I definitely recommend trying it out. Try to purchase it in a manner where you can return it if you don't prefer it over other options.

I purchased the TV EARS PRO model, they had lots of static and buzz noise, called tech support and they asked tv brand, When I quoted Sony, they apologized and said they did not work well with Sony and to hook them direct to satellite box, that did not change anything, when I use the IR remote for tv, they really make noise. Retailer charges 15% restocking fee plus postage, really wish I had read this review before buying.

TV EARS 10241 669188102410 TV Ears PROFESSIOBEST DARN THING I'VE DONE IN A LONG TIME." I SUFFER FROM HEARING LOSS IN ONE HEAR AND IT'S SO FRUSTRATING TRYING TO LISTEN TO TV AND SOMEONE SITTING NEXT TO YOU AND YOU CAN'T MAKE OUT EITHER ONE. I HAD A HEADSET BUT I HATED IT. THE KIND THAT SITS OVER YOUR HEAD AND CLAMPS DOWN ON YOUR SCALP AND VERY TIGHT AGAINST YOUR EARS. YOU CAN HEAR THE TV VERY WELL BUT NOTHING ELSE. IT ALSO MESSED UP MY HAIR WHICH I'M VERY PARTICULAR ABOUT. MY WIFE SAW AN AD IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER AND SHOWED IT TO ME. IT WAS ALL ABOUT TV EARS. I FIGURED IT WAS A NO BRAINER BECAUSE OF THE 90 DAY GUARANTEE SO I PURCHASED IT. AGAIN, "THE BEST DARN THING I'VE DONE IN A LONG TIME." NOT ONLY CAN I HEAR THE TV BUT I CAN ALSO ANSWER MY WIFE WHEN SHE TALKS TO ME. AND THE BEST THING IS....IT DOESN'T MESS UP MY HAIR.

We own this headset and we love it. It is so lightweight and easy to wear. This size and comfort, the quality of the sound and the fact that we can walk around with them and still hear clearly is a big plus. This is a high quality product we recommend it to our friends often.

Limited range to in front of TV. Subject to harsh static when turned at an angle to TV, or turned or walking away from TV. Not really good sound qualityContrast to Radio Shack ear phones that are way more comfortable, no static of any kind and can be listened to while walking into the next room or nearby areas. The only drawback to Radio Shack is that of only use one headset to a setup. |
