Wow, how complete! I've been in TV for over 30 years and I have never seen as informative a piece of work about the industry. The book covers all aspects of the TV World from a extremely knowledgeable position. The authors did themselves proud and preformed a service for anyone who wants the "inside skinny" about our truly American Industry. Good read for the insider and the causual viewer alike.

A behind the scenes look at how TV shows are marketed,

I'm a student studying TV advertising and marketing and this book provided what my college texts and professors didn't: a real behind the scenes look at the inner workings of TV Promotion. It's funny, hip, cynical, smart and contemporary. I feel I have a better take on what this end of the business is about from people who've been there. I'd recommend it to anyone starting out who is considering a career in television. Well done!

These ladies hit the industry right between the proverbial "rabbit ears". Witty, crazy, ballsy and bold! They tell it like it is and take no prisoners. It certainly motivates you to want to get into promo and be creative to break the old rules and make up some new ones... "Must See TV" move over - this is "Must Read TV"!

I write and produce promos for a living, and a friend gave me this book as a joke. I ended up reading it cover to cover. (Who knew anyone had written a book about this end of the business?)I gotta tell you, it's about as real a depiction of the TV business as anything I've ever read: the fun, the frustration, the big paydays, the stars' bigger egos, the politics, etc. it's also very funny and surprisingly entertaining. If you can't get a job after reading this book, MOVE BACK TO IOWA. :-)

What a great read! This is a fly-on-the-wall book that gives you a real inside and unvarnished view of the realities of the TV business. It's not all fun and glamour, but the excitement and rewards sure seem to outweigh the negatives. I'm moving to LA this summer to pursue a career in promo.

Got hold of an advance copy through a friend and had a ball - great read and it really puts a human face on what goes on the behind the Wizard of Oz curtain of television.

Though an interesting topic...there is a reason why good promotion is short and sweet - perhaps they should have remembered this while writing this trivial book.
