I also have the KDL-52W4100.
It has some clouding. It is not that severe, but I still find it very annoying.
I purposely kept the box, and I may return the TV to amazon if Sony can't offer a fix.
I spoke to Sony and they told me the reset the TV, which I am going to try, but obviously I don't expect that to change anything.

Your problem may be caused by using component cables and not HDMI cables. You do not have to use $150 HDMI cables but use shielded cables. I got mine on eBay for $9 ea for ten foot cables. The picture is flawless.
