Broke on first use -- Just Make Your Own!,
This review is from: Hidden Wall Safe (Kitchen)
I realized after the fact that I quick jaunt to Home Depot and I could have an actual outlet box and face cover that would work just as well... or better, since it'd be metal instead of cheap plastic.
In trying to stuff a wad of cash in mine, it cracked apart. It's VERY cheaply made. Also, the picture makes it look like you have some nice hinge that tilts your contents out. Not so. The faceplate comes off, then you yank out the container, which just sticks in the wall. Anybody could build one themself. Also, it's very small. I wanted to fit two stacks of bills in mine -- maybe an inch-thick of singles -- and instead could only roll one stack up to fit inside. Clever idea, terribly made.

Cheap Cheap Cheap,

The product came in and I was excited to see how it looked. It looked pretty nice, and very inconspicuous. While I was using the cheap "saw" they send with it to cut through the drywall, the saw broke. I got my own tools to finish the job. While trying to install the "safe" itself, the cheap inferior plastic they used broke in two places and now it doesn't hold the face plate on it very well. I made my own out of verneers of wood. I used the same shape as the original, just now with better quality stuff... It DOES however look like a legit outlet, but you can not actually plug anything into it to make it look more legit, the cord just hangs there and you can tell its a phoney. Anyone considering the item, I would just make my own with real materials from home depot.... just dont run the electricity to it.

Kinda Cheaply made,

This is not a "safe" in the traditional sense. it's a close look alike that can be used to hide a few valuables. (Jewelry)
This is not something that could be used daily to open and close repeatedly.

Holy @#$%...I don't even know where to begin...When making this product they must have assumed that you were the one who built the house. After, getting the hole cut, I realized the sheet rock was reinforced to be about an inch thick of wall. This "product" was designed for MAYBE a quarter inch thick sheet rock...but this is only a guess, it could be designed for even thinner. After about an hour of scraping the additional wall off and finally getting the thing to fit into place, the piece that holds the cover onto the wall broke immediately. I got this product for super cheap but with that being said, I STILL would NOT recommend this to even my worst enemy. Go to Home Depot, or Lowe's, and just make something similar. There are great online tutorials for homemade wall safes very similar to this one.

I have been purchasing things from Amazon for many years - I have purchased things as expensive as $3000 and I guess as cheap as this product - $8.00. I intended to install this wall safe in my daughters room - when it was delivered and we opened the packaging - it was broken - not because of shipping but because of poor manufacturing quality (glued seams came apart). I was able to tape it back together - but the product looked and functioned so cheaply - and looked nothing like a real outlet that I refrained from installing it. Additionally - be aware that if you install this in an outside wall - you will compromise the insulative properties of the area.
When I inquired about returning the product - I would have had to pay to ship it back and then pay a restocking fee - of course, I would have spent more than $8 to return it - so I did not. My advise - don't even think about ordering this thing!

Only for WHITE wall plates,
By The drawbacks are that it only comes in white, contrary to product description, and you can't actually plug anything into it (i.e. I wanted to have a dummy cord plugged in to appear real) A standard plug is loose and makes it look 'fake'. But, it holds a fair amount of stuff and is what I was looking for.

CHEAP GARBAGE,

HORIBLE PRODUCT. IT LOOKS AND FEELS CHEAP. IT IS "NOT CONVINCING". I CONTACTED THE SELLERS CUSTOMER SUPPORT EXPRESSING THAT I WAS NOT HAPPY AND WANTED TO RETURN IT. THEY NEVER RETURNED MY EMAILS. NEVER. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS TO ANYONE. THE BACK PART OF IT IS FLIMSY AND BULKY. YOU WOULD HAVE TO DESTROY A LARGE PORTION OR YOUR WALL TO PUT IT IN. THE ONLY WAY I WOULD RECOMEND THIS ITEM IS IF YOU WERE BUILDING A NEW HOME AND YOU HAD A CUT-OUT AREA ALREADY THERE. OTHERWISE, SKIP IT.

I was sceptical but decided to buy one anyway. I let it sit around for 6 months and then decided to go ahead and install it. Installation is easy. You get a template and a passable sheetrock saw with the kit. Took about 2 minutes to install. I love this thing. In fact I liked it so much I bought several others for family and friends. They love it also.
Plenty of room for keys, rings, watches, etc. Size is a limiting factor, but they hold enough for me. And, the outlet looks like any other outlet.

This was something my 11 yr old son wanted, and I was skeptical from the start. The concept is neat, but the quality of the parts is sub-par. I basically had to re-build the thing with little bits I had laying around the garage. We are still attempting to get it to work correctly but are very close to making it work as advertised. It has become kinda a father/son project now, and we are having fun with it. If you like tinkering with stuff in an attempt to make it work then this is for you. But if you expect this thing to work straight out of the box, you will be disappointed.
