I've consistently used this brand as an additional ingredient (along with ground flax seed) to my oatmeal cookies to make them "nursing" friendly. The combo of oatmeal, brewers yeast and ground flax create a dynamic fusion of milk increasing ingredients for nursing mom's looking to bolster their supply. The cookies taste wonderful and the brewers yeast flavor nicely compliments the recipe without being overpowering. My kids, family and friends love these cookies. The price was under ten bucks which is comparable to my local health supply store but the mail order delivery saves me a trip with a little one in tow. For those who are interested in making cookies, I found the recipe online but tweaked it a little because I like slightly softer cookies than how the original recipe turned out. Here's the recipe:
Oatmeal Cookies (Lactation Friendly)
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons ground flax seed meal
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups plain uncooked oats
1-2 cups chips of your choice (chocolate, butterscotch, white, peanut butter, etc.)
2-4 tablespoons brewers yeast (I use 4)

1. Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit
2. Mix flax seed and water and let it sit 3-5 minutes
3. Beat butter, sugar and brown sugar
4. Add eggs, mix
5. Add flax seed, vanilla and mix
6. Add flour, brewers yeast, baking soda, salt and mix
7. Stir in oats and chips of choice
8. Bake 12 minutes
9. Let cool a few minutes and move to cooling rack.
Makes 4-5 dozen depending on cookie size. Around 110 calories each if using a pre-measured cookie scooping spoon.

I used this for many batches of lactation cookies and muffins. It smells awful in the jar, but I couldn't taste it in any of the baked goods. It helped a lot with my lactation issues.

THERE ARE MANY GOOD BRANDS OF BREWERS YEAST - TWIN LABS ADDS TASTE & VALUE TO A WINNING FORMULA,

IN A NUTSHELL: VERY GOOD TASTING "REAL BREWER'S YEAST" -- NOTHING ADDED

This "Genuine Brewer's Yeast" powder tastes very good for real Brewers Yeast. Having said that, remember this is not a vitamin or mineral -- BREWER'S YEAST is one of the ultimate super-foods, a veritable food supplement by itself. Traditionally, people who have been involved with weight lifting, body building or competitive sports that require strength, and muscle building have found that Brewer's Yeast had preceded them. It has very well balanced amino-acids plus all the B-complex vitamins which include large doses of Inositol and Choline. Add to this, the best, and most bioavailable source of chromium and selenium too, as well as many trace minerals and elements. AND - they're all naturally occurring -- nothing is added, no preservatives, sugars or additives of any kind. Really good food is what this Brewer's Yeast is, and you can add it to many things. Right now, I have a tablespoon mixed in with a huge glass of very diluted orange juice, but you can put it in anything you want, including; casseroles, yogurt, soup, juices, meat loaf, salads, milk and of course water. Honestly, I have been using this stuff on myself for over 40 years. Truly, I've never gotten over the wonder of how well, and alert Brewer's Yeast has always made me feel. My guess is that the large quantities of Inositol and Choline are the key to the alertness, combined with the natural amino-acids.

BELOW IS A COPY OF THE LABELING INFO THAT IS PROBABLY EASIER TO READ -- remember, all the nutrients are naturally occurring - nothing is added!

Wish I had known about this for my first baby. The amount it boosts my production, is surprising. The taste is barely noticeable when baked. I put it in everything oatmeal, pancakes, lactation recipes, my regular baking recipes... Works wonders, highly recommended!

Stinks. Tastes bad if it's not masked in some sort of delicious baked product, and then makes the baked goods slightly less delicious. I bought it for milk production, and it did the job. The other reviewers aren't exaggerating when they say it's awful. But sometimes a mom has to do what a mom has to do.

Wanted to make some lactation cookies but could only find the type of yeast that grows on beets. This type was supposed to be better. I can vouch for the fact that it does increase the milk supply with 4 T in a batch of cookies.

We first went to whole foods but they wanted $20 a jar and for a smaller amount. This was great and eligible for prime! Worked great in the lacation cookies we made...no strong yeast taste. My supply went up and I even got leaky!!!
