Good product, but horrible remote,

It was a narrow choice b/t the 702 & the 801; but the Component Out and separate Zone 2 rear connections was the deciding factor.Good crisp sound/video quality; The Remote control is terrible - no codes for my Zenith TV (the only one listed does not work) and No Codes for the Scientific Atlantic cable Box (even a $10 Universal remote list the company), direction arrows seem reverse for CD/DVD's; and programming of remote is hit/miss deal, cannot rename Input's. I've owned Onkyo products (Amps / Receivers) for over 20 Years, they are excellent, but this 702 remote control needs some serious re-engineering. |
