Best Optical Swimming Googles,
By Blue Cat (California) - See all my reviews Also, I recommend going slightly less then your current prescription, as the water will magnify things.

These goggles provide a great alternative to fuzzy sight or contacts with normal goggles. They work exactly as advertised.
One point that's really obvious in retrospect but not so clear the first time I read the Amazon page: the 'size' in the product information refers to the prescription (the spherical correction). So size 2 means both lenses have -2 correction. The only downside is that it's a one size fits all solution: both eyes have the same correction. So if your eyes are very different, or very astigmatic, you may not get a great benefit from them. That said, I got the -2's with my -2.25/-3.0 eyes and are significantly better than normal goggles. YMMV.

Great goggles, can be tailored to your prescription,

I can confirm what the others have said: These are great goggles.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned: If your eyes have significantly different prescriptions, you can buy two pairs (one for each prescription) and swap a lens from each pair - that gives you two pairs of "custom" prescription goggles for less than $33 (at today's price).

Reversible lenses, flexible straps,

If you have a different Rx for each eye, you can get two pairs and switch the lenses. The instructions in the box say they won't work upside down (if you do the switch, one side of each pair will be) but that's not true with this model. The straps are quite flexible. These aren't the tiny racing type goggles, but not real bulky either. I have a big head and prominent brow, recessed eyes, and these fit well and keep water out without needing to be uncomfortably tight. They come in a vented plastic box for carrying. I got the smoked color, it's just enough to take the glare off but are still useable on foggy days. I'm very pleased with them.

not good for small faces,
I like these goggles in terms of they way you can see peripherally, and the prescription is great. Also, the quick adjust straps are great. However, if you have a small face (like mine) and normally use women's or junior goggles, these will be way, way too big for you. I can't get a seal no matter what.

I bought the Speedo model and it was tight at the largest setting. I lost it and replaced it with these which fit my large head much better!

Finally: swim goggles for short sighted people,
By Socrates (FL, USA) - See all my reviews

These goggles are a god sent for short sighted swimmers. Even though they don't match all corrections to the comma, one can see quite good under and above water with these goggles and doesn't feel blind any more. They fit snuggly. In southern places I recommend the smoke lens as you can't wear sun glasses over the goggles.

I love the optical correction in these lenses! Another reviewer pointed out that the "size" really meant how much optical correction there was- good thing since I didn't see it in the description.
The negatives are that the "smoke" color is not as shaded as I had hoped - I like them to act as sunglasses in the pool. The biggest negative is that no matter how I adjust them, they leak. They seem like they fit, but they still leak. I almost broke the strap over the nose trying to adjust it and had to use tools to do it. |
