5.0 out of 5 stars simply the best goggles I have ever used
I rather lost my love of swimming since I cannot see well without wearing contacts, and the chlorine irritates me twice as bad while wearing them. I have used several different brands of goggles with my contacts over the years and was overjoyed when I ran across these. 3.0 out of 5 stars not good for small faces
I like these goggles in terms of they way you can see peripherally, and the prescription is great. Also, the quick adjust straps are great. However, if you have a small face (like mine) and normally use women's or junior goggles, these will be way, way too big for you. I can't get a seal no matter what.

5.0 out of 5 stars simply the best goggles I have ever used, May 1, 2006
I rather lost my love of swimming since I cannot see well without wearing contacts, and the chlorine irritates me twice as bad while wearing them. I have used several different brands of goggles with my contacts over the years and was overjoyed when I ran across these. I debated a brand I am familiar with but reading the reviews, I had to admit I wasnt really liking them for many of the reasons mentioned with that product, so, I took a chance. You cannot go wrong for the money with these, they fit comfortably, could substitute for my regular glasses in a pinch, and after a small amount of adjusting they are very leak proof with a wide field of vision. The strap adjustment is a bit tedious to manipulate, but that is a definate good thing, once you have them 'dialed in' there is no chance they will slip or move out of adjustment as it uses a very clever locking mechanism to lock the straps in place, rather than the double strap through a buckle design that seems all to prevelant. My eyes are in between the available powers offered so, I went with the closest step down from my prescription, figuring the additional distortion of the water would even things out, but, I see quite clearly with them both in and out of the water. If you need some vision correction, and don't like fiddeling with contacts in the pool as I do not, you simply must own these goggles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Goggles / Great Price, January 24, 2007

I have been buying this brand of prescription goggles for at least 10 years. The price has been gradually coming down each year. I was surprised to find them so reasonably priced at Amazon of all places. These fit well, adjust easily and are extremely durable. I swim 6 days each week and I can easily get over a year of use from each pair. Typically the gaskets begin to deteriorate long before the lenses, when used daily outdoors in chlorinated pools. Keep them stored safely so the lenses don't scratch and rinse them in clear water after swimming and you'll be thoroughly satisfied with your purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Optical Swimming Googles, January 18, 2007

This is a great pair of swimming goggles. I swim a couple of times a week and I can't see a thing without my glasses. This pair is very comfortable and does a great job correcting my vision. I can't imagine swimming without them. They have a wide field of vision, the adjustment is easy to use, and stays adjusted. I've never had a problem with leaking. For less then twenty dollars you can't go wrong. They are the best goggles I have ever owned. Much better then the other brands.

Also, I recommend going slightly less then your current prescription, as the water will magnify things.

These goggles provide a great alternative to fuzzy sight or contacts with normal goggles. They work exactly as advertised.

One point that's really obvious in retrospect but not so clear the first time I read the Amazon page: the 'size' in the product information refers to the prescription (the spherical correction). So size 2 means both lenses have -2 correction.

The only downside is that it's a one size fits all solution: both eyes have the same correction. So if your eyes are very different, or very astigmatic, you may not get a great benefit from them. That said, I got the -2's with my -2.25/-3.0 eyes and are significantly better than normal goggles. YMMV.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great goggles, can be tailored to your prescription, June 2, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I can confirm what the others have said: These are great goggles.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned: If your eyes have significantly different prescriptions, you can buy two pairs (one for each prescription) and swap a lens from each pair - that gives you two pairs of "custom" prescription goggles for less than $33 (at today's price).

If you have a different Rx for each eye, you can get two pairs and switch the lenses. The instructions in the box say they won't work upside down (if you do the switch, one side of each pair will be) but that's not true with this model. The straps are quite flexible. These aren't the tiny racing type goggles, but not real bulky either. I have a big head and prominent brow, recessed eyes, and these fit well and keep water out without needing to be uncomfortably tight. They come in a vented plastic box for carrying. I got the smoked color, it's just enough to take the glare off but are still useable on foggy days. I'm very pleased with them.

I bought the Speedo model and it was tight at the largest setting. I lost it and replaced it with these which fit my large head much better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally: swim goggles for short sighted people, May 23, 2009
These goggles are a god sent for short sighted swimmers. Even though they don't match all corrections to the comma, one can see quite good under and above water with these goggles and doesn't feel blind any more. They fit snuggly. In southern places I recommend the smoke lens as you can't wear sun glasses over the goggles.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good idea but leaks, July 8, 2011

I love the optical correction in these lenses! Another reviewer pointed out that the "size" really meant how much optical correction there was- good thing since I didn't see it in the description.

The negatives are that the "smoke" color is not as shaded as I had hoped - I like them to act as sunglasses in the pool.

The biggest negative is that no matter how I adjust them, they leak. They seem like they fit, but they still leak. I almost broke the strap over the nose trying to adjust it and had to use tools to do it.
