4.0 out of 5 stars Find a perfect pair of goggles and stick with them, June 5, 2011

For me the TYR Velocity goggles are everything I need for workout and open water racing. (Many Alcatraz crossings even), They fit well and give me great peripheral vision that I need when pool swimming. With that said the shape of your eyes may vary and you may require a different brand or different goggle style. Experiment. For pool racing I use a low profile Speedo goggle but for everything else I use the TYR Velocity. Clear for nighttime swimming, tinted for day. (Tinted for day is important - it's like sunscreen for the eyes and could prevent cataracts.)

For new swimmers buy different pairs of goggle styles and see what suits your needs. Again, your mileage may very, but here is tip, wash your goggles with shampoo and rinse them quite thoroughly after each workout and your goggles will be fog resistant longer than the goggle strap will last.

5.0 out of 5 stars TYR Velocity Goggles, October 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased these for my teenage son who swims on a team. He absolutely loves them and has commented many times how he prefers them to the Speedo Vanquisher goggles he has been using for the last year.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected, June 1, 2011
This review is from: TYR Velocity Racing Metallized Goggle (Sports)
I have had TYR goggles before that have lasted me around 10 years and recently I decided it was time for new goggles. I bought a pair of these and they broke without a whole lot of strain after only a few days. I returned them thinking they were just faulty and that the next pair would be great. I got the next pair and they snapped after a longer time but with the same amount of strain. I don't know what is wrong with these but I much prefer the older goggles.
