We use this book in our toddler room at my center. The children LOVE to sit with the book and point out the colors and the items they know! I would recommend this book to parents and educators!

I bought all 6 books in this series. I think they are excellent books for building vocabulary in a young child. I much prefer the format of pictures rather than cartoons or sketches. The tabs on the pages help small fingers (and large!) turn the pages easily (board books tend to stick together). There are more pages than you usually get in a board book, too, and therefore more vocabulary words. They really put a lot onto each page. My minor criticism of the series: they reuse some pictures from one book to the next, and they could have made the "Colors" and "Numbers" books more interesting.

This is my rank order of the books in the series:
Animals
Words
Farm
Things That Go
Colors
Numbers

My 15 month old loves the words and animals books, and already knows them by heart so when I saw this one on sale, I just had to buy it. I do think the other titles are better, but there are some interesting new words in this book which can not be found in the other ones. However there are also some strange/abstract items, such as magic potion (?) and a piece of fabric that's supposed to resemble a cloud.

Personally, out of the books I know I think he words version is by far the best, and great to start with to see which themes your kid likes best. In second place the animals, third the farm (nephew owns this one, it's nice but a lot of repetition) and this one comes last. Still a great addition to our collection though.

The only color book we have for our kids is one of those tiny 1.5 x 1.5 ones. I had seen the number version of this book before, and while I wasn't interested in purchasing that one, I was interested in both colors & "first words". I love these books! I love the tabs, so if your child is interested in a specific page you can quick-flip there. My husband uses the tabs to turn the pages, says it's easier than normal books that way. It's a really nice size. I like all the different objects pictured, that they're labeled (some objects in our other colors book are hard to identify tbh). I love love love love love colors! And this book :)

This book I got at Target for $9.99. A little pricey for a kid's book for it is totally worth it!
My daughter loves this book. She never gets bored with it. There are sooo many pictures and words that she still needs to learn like tassels, medal, trophy, wig, etc. She would also count how many ants and berries there are in the pictures. It is better than the book "My first 101 words" that we own.

All pictures are cute and eye-catching. The book is well-made and has very nice color quality. All colors are sorted by tabs. I am gonna get one for my niece as well. It is one of the books that all kids should have.

This is a great book for toddlers. My daughter received it for Christmas when she was 17 months. It quickly became one of her favorite books. Each color page is filled with a ton of objects which helped her learn a ton of extra words while learning her colors. We read it so much that she has the items memorized and will say she wants to find the fork and go through the pages to find the item (which is easy for her to do since each page is tabbed). The last page in the book is kind of an I spy page and she loves that page too. I really cannot say enough good things about this book!

One of the first books Emma received as a gift. Before she learned to turn the pages, she chewed them. Mind you this is a very sturdy binding and stock but Emma's resolve was more than the book could handle. This is the second time we bought this book and as she is moving from her chewing phase to pointing phase it is perfect for word and picture association. Because of the tabs she also finds this book easy to turn the pages

This book is a step up from most color books. It not only goes beyond the usual red, blue, green, yellow, but adds silver, gold & multi/rainbow to the mix. The pictures are vibrant and clear and show off the varying shades of each color. The ending also goes so far as to introduce shapes and the concept of finding colors within patterns. My boys have received a few color-teaching books, but this one is definitely my favorite.
