Book Description

August 25, 2008
Winner of the 2009 Christian Retailers Choice Award for Bible Reference and Bible Study Title!

Full color, reproducible book on the The Tabernacle, with clear plastic overlays of the coverings of the "tent of meeting." The Tabernacle was the place where the Israelites worshiped God after the Exodus. Learn how the sacrifices, utensils, and even the structure of the tabernacle were designed to show us something about God. See the parallels between the Old Testament sacrifices and priests' duties, and Jesus' service as the perfect sacrifice and perfect high priest.

See how:

  • The Tabernacle was built
  • The sacrifices pointed towards Jesus Christ
  • The design of the tent revealed God's holiness and humanity's need for God
  • The Ark of the Covenant was at the center of worship.

Contains illustrations, charts, and diagrams not available elsewhere.

128 pages, full color with 8 clear plastic overlays showing inside/outside of the tabernacle; plus dozens of reproducible charts. You may reproduce up to 300 copies of any chart free of charge for your classroom.

Editorial Reviews

Review

The book is very detailed and easy to use. I facilitate adult education classes and use this book to assist in teaching. I especially found the charts/diagrams extremely helpful in these classes. At times I have made copies for the students to use, and they were received with great response! The charts/diagrams are large and colorful and easy on the eyes, and jam-packed with wonderful information. The definition sidebars are also very useful. The overlays are irreplaceable for demonstration purposes. This book has numerous references contained all in one!! (i.e. encyclopedia, dictionary....). I have encouraged students to purchase this resource, as it will provide for many years of enjoyment! Bravo on a work well done! --Susan Clark - January 27, 2009

I am teaching Sunday School to 4-6th grade students and determined that their knowledge of the Old Testament was greatly lacking. I decided to take them through a study on the Tabernacle and as I researched materials that I could use, I discovered Rose Publishing's Rose Guide to the Tabernacle. I was hopeful that it would be helpful and ordered it. Upon receiving the book, I am very excited to have it as a resource for my class! The illustrations alone are very informative. I appreciate the text and the information given as well as the well-organized format. When I shared the book with my students as a preview of things to come, they were all excited. The layover sheets help to bring alive an understanding that goes beyond words. I would recommend this resource to anyone! --Liz Maude - January 28, 2009

We as a husband & wife team are enjoying the Tabernacle Guide Book and charts very much. We have just gotten into the study of it and are reveiwing the various scarifices and offerings. We also like how the arrangement and layout of the outer court, the holy place and the holiest of holies are displayed. I appreciate the listing of the different feast and the meanings of them. I feel that it is a well done book in reference to Christ in the tabernacle. We plan to spend alot more time studing it all. I have been looking to order that book for a long time. We will take it with us to our Messianic Jewish Group when we study the journeys of the children of Israel in the wilderness and building of the tabernacle. --Wes & Pat Burnham - January 26, 2009

About the Author

Benjamin Galán grew up in a Christian home in Mexico City. During his studies, Galán became enamored with natural sciences. In college, Galán studied physics and mathematics, and grew indifferent and hostile toward the Christian faith. Along with the French mathematician Laplace, Galán believed God was no longer a necessary hypothesis.

After additional studies, Galán began to long for deep, satisfying connections and meaning in his young life. Through the moving testimony of a friend in school, Galán began to read the Bible with renewed eyes, and eventually returned to church. As he became more involved in the ministry of his home church, Galán sensed God's calling.

During his theological studies, Galán fell in love with the Old Testament and understood the Old Testament as the key for understanding the New Testament. Galán holds a Master of Theology in Old Testament, MTS Biblical Studies, and is adjunct professor of Hebrew language and Literature at Fuller Theological Seminary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Astonishing Visual of Narrow is the Way, October 11, 2009
This review is from: Rose Guide to the Tabernacle with Clear Plastic Overlays and Reproducible Charts (Spiral-bound)
This amazing book by Rose Publishing brings to life the visual imagery given by God in Old Testament times of how difficult (impossible) it is for fallen man to approach Him in his pure holiness. Starting at the outside of the tabernacle, the materials (sea cow) are the coarsest and most common (signifying man) and all may enter in at the main gate (the gospel call given to all). As you progress through the Tabernacle and the sacrificial system, the materials get finer and finer, and the access becomes more and more limited ("For narrow is the gate, and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Matt 7:14). Until at the end, one man alone is granted access to the Holy of Holies, almost a solid gold room (signifying God's holiness and purity).

This book makes real the complete and utter inability of wretched, depraved, sin-loving man to reach God. Ah, but then come two of the most beautiful words in the Bible:

"But God...."

But God....makes a way for sinners to be made right with Him. No amount of religion and good works can do it...we must rely on - and place our faith in - HIS provision. In Old Testament times, it was through faith in the sacrificial system, with an understanding that this system was a shadow of something greater to come.

We live in New Testament times, under the new covenant, and we understand God's plan in its entirety...and we know his name is Jesus. Dimly glimpsed in types and shadows in the Old Testament, gloriously fulfilled and revealed in the New Testament as the FINAL Lamb of the sacrificial system (Hebrews 9).

But God....has made a Way.

"Since the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of heaven has been advancing with force. And forceful people are taking hold of it.....He who has ears to hear, let him hear." (Matthew 11:12, 15)

This book is for you if you have struggled with understanding the Old Testament...but you have heard people say that all of the O.T. points to Christ, and you want to know how. This book is for you if you want to understand more about progressive revelation, and how God slowly, methodically and progressively revealed his magnificent plan of Salvation over centuries.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indepth and easily understood study guide, December 21, 2009

This review is from: Rose Guide to the Tabernacle with Clear Plastic Overlays and Reproducible Charts (Spiral-bound)
The tabernacle describes so well the love of our Savior for His people and this book helps build a solid foundation for further study. I have found all the Rose books very informative, detailed, and easy to use. Their actual construction - hard covers with hidden spiral binding makes them great to use on small tripods in my Sunday School/Bible Study class I purchased this, my second, Rose Guide to the Tabernacle as a gift to someone who enjoys studying God's Word. An added plus is the great price for an excellent book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, September 20, 2010

This review is from: Rose Guide to the Tabernacle with Clear Plastic Overlays and Reproducible Charts (Spiral-bound)
This thorough book has excellent graphics. Especially helpful are the overlays that reveal the details of tabernacle coverings, contents of the Ark, etc.. The text is also detailed and appropriate. Included are overviews of the entire camp and maps of 40 years in the wilderness. The book's construction is sturdy. While permission to make hundreds of copies for class use is granted, many of the best graphics are on two pages (one opening) that are hard to copy given the size and the spiral binding.
