When you add the additional two 16" leaves (included) this table becomes a rectangular dining table capable of seating 8. This table is a space saver. This dining table is great for people who don't have two separate dining areas. Use the dinette/game size table for everyday use and the dining room table size for when company comes over. Legs come unattached and must be screwed on, and two people are required to flip the table upright. The finishing process is a 3 step sprayed on finish and top coat. Chairs are sold separately. The table arrived quickly and without damage. It's a little hard to figure out how it all works, but it is amazingly engineered. Looks good in any of its configurations. I'm going to add wheels to it, just to make it a bit easier to move around and change sized. It actually can make into FOUR sizes, if you just put in one leaf, then its a bit larger of a four person dining or card table. My only complaint is that the drawer handle is a little bit cheesy, and is of a size that is almost impossible to replace. For the price, you just can't beat this table.

This is a great table for company and out of the way the rest of the time. Not sure how much weight it will support, haven't tried it with big serving dishes. I got the Home Decorators/Brookstone version and it should help that there is a 5th leg that folds down to keep the middle from sagging (this may be the difference between the Brookstone and lower-priced Target version - from the instructions it looks like the extra leg didn't used to fold). The only drawback is that the instructions say not to leave it up more than a week or so, so it is limited use and you can't "fake" a real table year-round (hence only gave it 4 stars). StakMore also makes it in a mission style.

I wanted an expandable table for my enclosed patio. Most patio table had a hole in the center for an umbrella
which was annoying. I could not find anything locally. However I searched Amazon and found this table. I was leery about spending $353 for a table sight unseen however I was pleasantly surprised with the function and quality of the table. The wood is beautifully finished and solid. I can seat 8 at the table. I've seen tables that seat 8 go for over $700. I like the idea of a fifth leg which stabilizes the middle when fully expanded. The best part is that it is made right here in NY USA!! VERY SATISFIED.
