I would heartily recommend this book if it only covered one of the tools. All three, router (8 chapters, 125 pages), table saw (7 chapters, 134 pages), and band saw (6 chapters, 120 pages) contain the level of detail that makes this a must have for your woodworking library. You will get great utility from this book as tool selection, upgrades, accessories and maintenance are covered along with use and safety. The pages come alive with outstanding color pictures and diagrams. Interesting techniques and jigs are discussed and outlined. An example of the detail is the section on kickback. Not only is it discussed, but photos are shown of a foam board being used on the table saw as the camera catches what happens. This is a quality book and I thank the authors for sharing their expertise.

Simply too much to say about this book, it covers what should be said. I have been through several books (library, BAM) and simply had to buy this one for keeps. If your wise and seek wisdom this book has it, not only for you but even your kid it's left to when your gone.

For the cost of the book you end up with a lot of material. The thing about it is though, it feels more like it was a series of articles previously published now bound together rather than a book that was written with the intention of being read all the way through. With that in mind this is probably best chosen more so as a reference manual rather than an introductory text. There is enough information about turning the power tools that if you have no other source for such information this might be an affordable pick.

I loved the illustrations for operationing the power tools, but I also loved the pictures showing where to stand and other safety points.

Outstanding book for those who want to really understand these tools but have only a passing knowledge of them. Detailed but not over the top.
