Got mine direct from the makers who provide them for the show. I called first to make sure they are safe. Was told on the phone they ARE from China but tested safe. Yet, found out on the CBS Television website that they contain lead & cadmium etc etc who who knows how safe OR unsafe they are!
They ARE gorgeous and cheap if bought from correct source. Handles are comfortable and never hot but the cup body itself does heat. GREAT cups if they don't kill me.....There are 3 different color combos I know of. I have this color in my 1st set.
Below is the warning I found with this mug:
WARNING TO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS: The colored artwork or designs used on this product contain lead and/or cadmium, chemicals known to the State of California to cause birth defects and other reproductive harm. This warning is required by Proposition 65.

I made a winning decision in ordering Charlie's coffee mugs. The coffee is a lot STRONGER. It's like having coffee with Charlie each morning.

These mugs are the same ones used on the show. I have always liked the look, so I ordered a set of 4. They arrived in good condition. The biggest problem is that I ordered the brown tone strips and got the blue mugs with blue on the inside of the mugs. There was no paper work with the order to return or even call about the mistake. The sixteen ounce size is actually a little too large, but I knew the size when ordering.
