by Habib Taherzadeh (Translator)is important book for any student of comparative religion or student of the Baha'i Faith because it represents Original Writings of Baha'u'llah, founder of the Baha'i Faith. In these writings (known for various reasons as "Tablets"), Baha'u'llah describes the essential fundamental spiritual foundations that would become known as the Baha'i Faith. Here are Tablets revealed to the first Christian believer, among many other works which Baha'u'llah wrote after he wrote his book of laws, known in Arabic as the Kitab-i-Aqdas (Most Holy Book). Baha'u'llah wrote many of Tablets to supplement and amplify his teachings. These are complete Writings of Baha'u'llah, which give great insight into the spiritual, moral and social implications of the teachings of Baha'u'llah. Because it is the actual translated words of Baha'u'llah, it is regarded as sacred scripture for members of the Baha'i Faith. Baha'u'llah demonstates the peaceful intent and non-violent methods of teachings, throughout this work in which he addresses people of all religions to work together for the common good and to remove religious prejudice between people of all faiths. He writes of the unity of religion and science, the harmony of reason and revelation, the equality of women and men, the need for universal education. He urges members of all religions to work together and urges his followers to associate with members of all religions in concord and harmony. This book, written from texts over 150 years ago, demonstrates a deep modernism from Baha'u'llah while he was imprisioned by the Ottoman authorities. I would strongly recommend it to comparative religion students, students of Middle Eastern history, and others who are interested in a religious approach to social change. It is a book relevent to our turblent age.

One of my favorite books, I have read The Tablets of Baha'u'llah numerous times, and still every time I read it again, I find new pearls of wisdom in the ocean of His Words. These Tablets changed my life.
