4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, but does the trick September 14, 2012

My fiance and I joined an open gym volleyball league where you're supposed to bring your own balls for peppering and games. We noticed that most people show up without a ball and so stand around awkwardly not warming up. We bought these balls knowing they were cheap and with no real regard if we lost them (for some reason balls magically disappear at open gyms...). They're definitely cheaply made and they're rubber, so not real volleyballs. But, they're better than nothing and the other players are always appreciative that we bring them along. Would never use this for any kind of real volleyball play or competition but great if you just need a bunch of extra balls for practice/open gym.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not too much to say April 6, 2012

This is my first volleyball I've ever purchased so I can't compare to others besides the ones that I've played with at school. It's definitely harder feel and smacks harder on your hands but I actually like that cause it feels super durable. It's not anymore painful then any other volleyball so it's not that big of a deal. Overall it's a good volleyball and I would recommend purchasing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Very Good March 2, 2013

It hurts every time you hit it. Leaves red marks and stings. Also gets dirty very easily. I would recommend purchasing a real ball.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good for Beginners ONLY - not recommended April 8, 2013

Based on other reviews, I made the decision to purchase this volleyball for my indoor volleyball league. Most people said it did the trick and fit the bill... I was very disappointed with this purchase and embarassed that I even brought it to my game for warm ups with my team... it was a joke!
The rubber is not even close to leather and it is very hard. It hurts when you bump it and it is hard to control. I am a seasoned volleyball player and have played at the college level... I should have just splurged for the genuine leather tachikara for $20 more... my bad for thinking saving a few bucks wouldn't cost me in quality.

I wouldn't recommend this ball for children or those who are just starting to play volleyball as it can be a bit painful to bump it. If you are an experienced indoor volleyball player like me, then I think you will also be disappointed with this ball. Don't fall for the other reviews who clearly have little experience with volleyballs.

Should have expected to get a cheap product for a cheap price! But definitely isn't a product to purchase for a diehard volleyball player. Ok for young kids to pop around with no need to really have quality play. Amazon made things right and I appreciate that very much! Amazon was great when I went to return it! Thanks a bunch!

2.0 out of 5 stars the ball is way too hard!! March 31, 2013

the texture is rubber, which sucks. you can set or bump with this ball. But when you have a game, you wouldn't want to use this. It hurts your arm even when you receive a free ball after awhile.
my school has a "gold" version of this, it's much better. or you can consider buy the wilson softplay. I'm not saying the softplay is good, but it's better one in a $10 range.

So, I guess you can use this ball to practice setting or maybe bumping. DONT USE IT IN A GAME
