Book Description

September 15, 2009
Celebrate one of America's favorite family dishes in this entertaining and informative cookbook, filled with delicious recipes for tacos. From old standby dishes to taco truck favorites to more ambitious varieties like the Spicy Hot Fudge Taco, this book contains something for every fan of a dish that's both simple and soul-satisfying. Taco obsessive Scott Wilson includes such delights as tacos de cazuela (a slow-cooked filling heaped straight from the pot onto tortillas), sautŽed tacos, and fried tacos. Along with meat and vegetarian options, recipes include appropriate sides, salsas, drinks, and desserts. Featuring color photographs throughout, this complete cookbook also discusses how to make tortillas from scratch and contains sidebars that explore the more exotic tacos and ingredients, and a guide to creating your own taco party.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taco Mania October 22, 2009
Format:Paperback
I just received my copy of Scott Wilson's book Tacos, and I am absolutely delighted. I am a good cook who loves cooking authentic Mexican food. I am drooling. This book will add depth and dimension to my taco skills. Wilson's pursuit of taco truck cuisine and home style Mexican food is very similar to my own love affair the food of Mexico.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, I am eating great Mexian food in Seattle! January 18, 2011
Format:Paperback
Thank you, Scott Wilson! We live in Seattle where the Mexican food is just bad. There is no lack of taco trucks and we have tried about a dozen of them at this point, but we are always disappointed. I am picky and spoiled after traveling in Mexico and spending a lot of time eating at great Mexican restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area. This book has given my husband and I the power to make great Mexican food at home (we have pretty good luck finding all the ingredients here). We have made most of the salsas and are really enjoying cooking with the different types of peppers. This is a great book - you can't find recipes like this on the internet!
