5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Book on Sailboat Racing
While there are many books on sailboat racing, this one is a real classic. My father had it on his bookshelf when he was competing in the Mallory finals back in the 1960s and it is just as relevant today. I found it a very readable book. 3.0 out of 5 stars Complexity is everything
I've found this book rather "scientific" than for practice. It is reserved for the professionals. If dingy sailing is only a past-time hobby for you, I would not recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Book on Sailboat Racing, September 11, 2000
This review is from: The Tactics of Small Boat Racing (Norton Nautical Books) (Paperback)
While there are many books on sailboat racing, this one is a real classic. My father had it on his bookshelf when he was competing in the Mallory finals back in the 1960s and it is just as relevant today. I found it a very readable book. Dr. Walker covers the basics in enough depth that those who work at appling his lessons can expect to be at the top of the fleet in most club regattas. He gives many verbal illustrations of his points using his own experience in one design and Olympic competition.

Used the original when coaching collegiate team in late '60's. Haven't found anything better in newer books. Buying it now to start the next generation.
