Product Description

The Passion Flower, or Passiflora incarnate is considered to be one of the powerful herbs native to the Western hemisphere. Native Americans once used this medicinal herb as a mild sedative. Passion Flower leaf powder quickly caught on as a folk remedy in Europe, and was adopted by professional herbalists as a sedative and digestive aid. The Passiflora incarnate is a woody vine which grows the most unique flowers which reminded early settlers of the passion of Christ, hence the herbs name. The plant grows native to North, Central and South America and bears small, berry-like fruit called granadilla or water lemons. Many herbalists commonly use Passion Flower cut and sifted as an aid for pain and insomnia. Passion Flower leaf may also be tried as a means to treat imbalances of the nervous system including insomnia, nervous tension and stress headaches. This dried herb may also alleviate anxiety and nervousness but without triggering the dependence and withdrawal common in anti-anxiety prescription medications. This dried herb is believed to be a helpful aid in for female anxiety during menses, childbirth and menopause. Passion Flower cut and sifted has shown to ease spasms and depresses the central nervous system.

What you see is what you get. This is a good quality tea with calming, sedative properties. I drink it at night, and it is greatly calming. I can't make a comparison because I haved not purchased other brands, but I believe it is as advertised so I have no qualms buying it again.

I have a lot of free-floating worry/anxiety which pushes my BP way up (150/110). Meds work but I'm reduced to sleeping or going postal. I'm trying non-med solutions to relieve the anxiety. The tea is a wonderful stress reducer and calmer w/o leaving me feeling stupified or drowsy. I use two tea bags in hot water, with honey. Some reviewers have commented on the terrible taste. I don't notice a terrible taste unless I was expecting Koolaid. My pulse rate drops from the high 60's into the high 50's...and I'm noticeably less occupised with worry and more focused on work or what's at hand. The cost is reasonable but I'm now buying bulk passionflower tea from Dragon Herbarium.

Tincture of passionflower also works well, with the same effect on my pulse rate. I take 2mL three tiems a day and the calming effect is there. But, tincture is not inexpensive.

I am very happy with how fast this tea got to me and the packaging safe! Product just as described. Really did relax you so I could get a good nights sleep. I was still groggy in the morning so instead of a full cup I will drink half ;). Excellent product! I would buy again.

Great tea! Even my 14 year old son asks for a cup at night. He has a hard time sleeping at night because of seasonal allergies, so this relaxes him. I myself am not crazy about the taste, but he loves it.

I used to wake often & take a long time to return to sleep at night. From the first evening I tried this, my sleep has improved. I still wake up occasionally but go right back to sleep. No grogginess, nothing artificial & have no trouble waking rested in the morning. This is a wonderful product. Only negative was that at first, it tasted bitter. But, adding hot (not boiling) water & steeping for only 3 minutes, it's great. What a nice evening treat & restful night of sleep. I've been using this for a few months and even took my tea on vacation. Wonderful!

I have used this tea to get through the night... after having a heart attack. Without it I could not make it through the night and would wake with heart palpitations! I have tried many other relaxing/calming/alleged sleep creating herbs that have fallen short this one ... works great!

I Thanked God for it! I would drink a large mug of it just before bedtime and within 30 minutes I went off to a restful night. The taste is very mild almost nebulous... if anything I wish the taste was a little stronger. But the effects are Awesome! Just what I needed.

I read the single stars and some of the people just seem to be on the "nag-line" -- others may have allergies -- whatever their problem it is indigenous to their own bodies or their minds.

I highly recommend this tea and have now purchased it for relatives whom I know need a good nights sleep and have tried other herbs that have fallen short.
