waste of time,

This review is from: Tae Bo: 30 Minute Power Pounds (DVD)
I am a huge tae bo fan and bought this thinking it would change up my regular routine. It is very disorganized and you end up waiting around for a long time in-between rounds. Also, Billy Blanks tends to the the same move for two rounds. It gets boring doing the same move for two minutes. I thought it would be a more high-energy/quick-moving workout, but it was a big disappointment. I felt like I didn't get a workout at all.

Tae bo let down,

This review is from: Tae Bo: 30 Minute Power Pounds (DVD)
I regularly do Tae Bo as a way to cross-train. When I saw this DVD, I was excited thinking it would be a fast-paced 30 minute work out. Wrong. Billy seems very disorganized as though he hadn't choreographed the work out ahead of time. With so many other quality Tae Bo workouts out there, I wouldn't suggest wasting your money (or time) on this one.

Gave it to charity,
This review is from: Tae Bo: 30 Minute Power Pounds (DVD)
I, like the other reviewers, was also very disappointed in this workout. I didn't feel like I had worked out at all, and don't ever recall breaking a sweat or really breathing heavily. I did it once and put it in my charity bag.

Good for a quick cardio workout,

I'm kind of surprised at how many people disliked this dvd...and how much they disliked it. I have the boot camp dvds and this one and I like them all. They each have their flaws but for the most part they deliver good solid workouts. For someone to say they didn't even break a sweat while doing this workout...I kinda think they're exaggerating.
For someone who's at an advanced level this may not be the dvd for them...but if you're a beginner or even somewhere in the middle (like me), this is a good cardio workout. I have 2 left feet so I find some of the kicking steps a bit awkward...but that's just the spaz in me. the only thing I don't like about this dvd is that the sound isn't really synced with the picture but it's not that big a deal.

I love the power round DVD's. I realize a lot of people don't. They dont' get good reviews. but let me tell you my experience with these tapes. I lost 30 lbs during the first part of the year doing the "12 power rounds" before work in the mornings and eating right.
It took me two months to work up to the 20 power rounds and now I have finally gotten strong enough to do the 30 and it is just right for a 50 yr old overweight woman... It leaves me breathless and feeling like I have really accomplished something. I sweat. I absolutely love them. I have tons of Billy tapes/DVD's but this set is just right for my fitness level and it works for me. I wouldn't trade my power rounds for anything. It is all a matter of perspective....and for me, these power round are just right! I recently ordered the amped kit but have not received it yet. The reason I ordered it is because it is based on cardio bursts just like the power rounds. I am looking forward to trying it as well.. The reason a lot of women give up on taebo is because the tapes are long and hard and they can't do them. Especially if they are older and overweight like me. I say start with the power rounds. You will be able to do them and you will feel like you have worked out. But get the set. The 12, the 20 and the 30. Work you way up and then try something else. That's what I did. I can now do 30 minute bootcamp 1 and 20 mintues of celebrity fit cardio. But I couldn't start out with that. At first, the 12 power rounds was very difficult. .... I love taebo and the power rounds are my favorite tapes so far. And no matter what anyone says, if you do the 12, 20 or 30 power rounds with exaggerated moves, you have really worked out.. You just choose the one that you can do depending on your fitness level. They changed my life. I will never look at exercise the same. Billy Blanks rocks! Cheers, Jennifer

Great workout,

This DVD is a great workout, very aerobic because there's a lot of jumping around. It isn't exactly 30 1 min power rounds, however (that's why the four stars). They are 30 rounds of several exercises some of which are repeated and they don't all last 1 min (a few last a bit more than a minute). The first two and last two rounds are for warm up and cool down. I like this very much from the tae bo videos because I don't have to warm up before starting the DVD. My workout can start and end with the DVD.
Nonetheless you get a great workout because you're moving around all the time. I bought this because when I don't have much time I want a good workout in 30 minutes and it serves the purpose. I was actually surprised at how good a fast workout this was. I don't recommend it however if this is your only tae bo video. I would suggest another one like the Cardio, but if you have already practiced tae bo this is a fast workout that can introduce a variation to your routine.

I really like most of Billy Blanks work outs but this one was dreadful. I used it once and will never use it again. I wont even resell it as that would be horrible to do to someone else.
