When Billy Blanks called this workout Advanced, he wasn't fooling around. This 57-minute workout will have your heart racing, your pulse pounding, and your sweat glands working overtime. The familiar moves from Tae-Bo Instructional and Basic are here, but Blanks has put a little razzmatazz on them, adding slightly more complicated combinations that should be fairly easy to master if you've completed the first two tapes. The new moves--which combine Tae-Bo's patented mix of boxing punches and martial arts kicks--make this video much more exciting, but they also considerably raise the bar on the difficulty factor. In addition to the short warm-up, the cool down, and the 30 minutes of Tae-Bo, Advanced Tae-Bo also includes 18 minutes of muscle-crunching floor work. You know you're in trouble when even the guys in the tape have trouble keeping up. As Blanks says, your "butt should be on fire," and if you need to, "go ahead and scream a little." But, as always, Blanks is a supportive coach, reminding you to go at your own pace (stop for water if necessary), yet encouraging you to push yourself as much as you can. The music is still cheesy, and some of the camera work somewhat confusing (the overhead angle makes the body positioning in the floor work hard to follow). However, this is a terrific workout when you're ready to take Tae-Bo to the next level; just make sure you have truly mastered the first two tapes before attempting Advanced. A 20-minute sneak preview of Tae-Bo Live is included with this video. --Jenny Brown

I feel motivated with each workout and in great shape.

I loss the tape in a move and had to buy the newer Tae Bo workout DVDs however none of them (at least the ones I purchased) even came close to the older Advanced tape!

Even though I may miss a couple of repetitions by doing this I still finish the workout feeling that it did me good!

I've been working out with the Tae-Bo Advanced tape for over three months and love the results. The 55 minute length really makes you feel like you got a great workout. The steps are easy to follow, as far as choreography is concerned. If you're in reasonable good shape, you can keep up with this workout. The only time it gets really hard is when Billy increases the movement speed to double-time for certain short sets. I like the routines because he focuses on one area long enough to exhaust the muscle, but not too long to where you can't keep up. The leg kick routines are very effective in toning the thigh, hips and abs, all at the same time. The only bothersome thing about this video is that Billy sometimes rambles on during a set and you end up doing more reps on one side than the other. I've learned where these are in the tape and compensate by changing sides. I really love the 18 minute floor work at the end of the tape that concentrates on the abs, glut and hip area. My waist, hip, and butt are trimming down nicely from this workout. I am also a big fan of The Firm workout videos and Tae-Bo quickly became one of my favorite video workouts! It's great to travel with too because the workout does not require any equipment.

Ok guys, this is it. I have been doing Tae Bo for 6 months now. I first started out with the Instructional and Basic then moved to the next level, the Advanced one. Let me tell you all, this workout is a strong, tough workout for the full 57 minutes you are watching. This workout strengthens muscles, tones your target area, abs, hips, thigh, and of course, the stomach are. You are learning correct posture and endurance, balance and coordination as well. There are some complaints that the moves are not taught, let me tell you, most of the moves are instructed in the Basic and Instructional tape. That is why it tells you DO NOT attempt this Advanced tape w/o watching or reveiwing the first tapes. I read that one viewer said she skipped the Instructional and the Basic tape and hopped to the advanced b/c the first tapes were to "easy", true, but that is where you learn your moves. That is how injuries occur and why some of you feel like the moves are not taught at all and you jab the wrong way or kick with a too extended knee and twist your ankles..etc.... Now, for the moves that are not in the first tapes, he DOES explain/demonstrate them to you b4 he tells you to do it. So, if you have not done the first required tapes, then do not attempt the Advanced one b/c injuries will result and confusion to the steps will occur. If you watch the tapes first and do them before avdancing to the Advanced, you will have no problems at all and have a good worth your money workout. One that truly rules. Intense

I have never sweat so much in my life! I LOVE this workout!! I had been doing the Basic for about 4 weeks, until I was able to comfortably do the entire workout. I then decided it was time to go for more of a challenge. I went ahead and purchased the Tae-Bo Advanced/Tae-Bo Live! Sneak Preview. I definitely got the challenge I wanted and then some! I have been alternating Tae-Bo Advanced and Tae-Bo Live Sneak Preview, every day of the week. In just 2 weeks, I have noticed a tremendous difference in the way my body looks. I am much more defined. I'm more energized and feel much more emotionally balanced. The Tae-Bo Advanced tape is 57 minutes in length. Billy Blanks begins with a quick warm-up and off you go. The workout consists of the same basic moves that you initially learned and adds a couple of different moves all at a much faster pace. At the end, he takes you through a great floor workout for targeting the Buns and Abs. The Tae-Bo Live Sneak Preview is about 20 minutes in length and starts off with a fast warm-up and then onto combining segments from the other Live tapes for a great complete workout. Before doing this workout, it is absolutely essential to go through the Instructional and then the Basic. It is imperative to learn the moves correctly and feel comfortable with them before moving on to the Advanced. I am just now making it through the Advanced without stopping. Billy Blanks enthusiasm and and constant encouragement help you push yourself to the end!

I am a traveling consultant and working out can be hard when moving from city to city a lot..Before buying the advanced tape I would do the basic tape twice. I love the workout and since Sept. I've lost 14 pounds..Sometimes I do the advanced tape twice a day. The only thing that I noticed is that sometimes Billy doesn't do the same amount of reps on both sides which can cause a regular user like myself to have an uneven body distribution. I just recently ordered the first advanced live series b/c I think my body is starting to get used to the workout. However, compared to all aerobic excercises I've done I love taebo and it's convient for me to stick in my luggage while on the road. I never make a trip without my tae bo tapes.. I feel motivated with each workout and in great shape.

I agree with all the other reviews... advanced is a wonderful workout, it can't get boring and it works the entire body... however, one must first conquer the basic workout. I found that the first time with the advanced workout was very fast, would have been lost and hurting without a tae bo basic workout history. But fun, and challenging!
