Grade 5-7-As its subject matter is fairly specific, this book is more for students of Taekwondo than an introduction to it. Readers are given this fighting art's history, along with its "commandments" (e.g., "Respect your teachers") and told what is expected of novices and black belts. Full-color photos and unappealing cartoons illustrate punches, kicks, and blocks. Loyalty to one's school gets a fair amount of coverage, but the cost of lessons and the signing of contracts is never mentioned. Add to this the long-distance number that the authors include for readers to call (albeit with parents' permission) for a school in their state "that will best fit your needs," and the book takes on the role of being an advertisement for the World Taekwondo Federation. Libraries might do better with titles that refrain from self-promotion and cover a broader range of martial arts.

i read tye book but it didnt impress me much,but it might impress the younger kind of people just not for 13 year olds. inthought it was a very good bokk but i would need to read an older type of book.
