MASTERING TIME - - - WELL-WRITTEN, WITH EXQUISITE PHOTOS, July 10, 2000
This review is from: Tag Heuer: Mastering Time (Hardcover)
'Mastering Time' (Gisbert Brunner) is a compilation of the history of Heuer Watches, including a generous account of the TAG Heuer conglomerate after Heuer was purchased by TAG. The book is large, heavy, and a definite coffee table addition printed on heavy glossy stock. If you are a Heuer or TAG Heuer aficionado, this book is a definite must for your book collection on fine watches, containing beautiful color photos of such pieces as the original Heuer stopwatches, and a generous history on the company and its virtual monopoly on the early stopwatch/competition-style pieces of which Heuer was the top producer. Also, TAG Heuer is well represented, including exquisite photos of some of their best offerings, including the once very chic S/el automatic chronometer now out of production, which to my mind was one of the most classic and beautiful pieces ever produced by TAG Heuer.
This book is an excellent addition to the collection of any reader interested in fine timepieces, and I highly recommend it.
