I recieved the book tag toss and run and actually knew almost all the games. These are great games for kids (and adults) to play. They teach a lot more than just fun.I think young people have too much time on the computer and their fine motor skills are great, but they learn how to play with other kids and do it fairly. They also learn co-ordination, hand eye etc. and get,for the most part, fresh air! I would recomend this book to all.

The introduction to this book really says it all! The authors do a great job of contrasting the pre-technology culture of children vs their current life lived in front of a computer, TV, or Smart Phone. In so doing they "... present a time-honored way for children to reconnect, not only with nature, but their communities, their comrades, their families, and their sense of self". Even if you didn't grow up in, or are unfamiliar with, a social structure in which children play without constant adult supervision you owe it to future generations to make them aware of the philosophy and activities presented in this book.

Great book for remembering the games we played as children (before electronics). My grandkids like to play them...at least for awhile, which gives them some exercise and powers the imagination.
