Don't rely on the current product specs,

This review is from: Tag Vintage Clear Glass Kitchen Canister, 3.375-Inches Tall x 3.5-Inches High Small (Kitchen)
The specifications in product for that this Tag Vintage Clear Glass container (small) contain some real misstatements. First of all, the canister isn't three-and-three-quarter inches by three-and-a-half inches no matter how that is interpreted. It's more like seven inches high. As makes sense, it is the smallest of the three (Small-Medium-Large) of these Tag brand canisters but looks more squat than the photo, which to me has the proportions of the biggest one. Capacity by cup or liter is not listed here but if Large and Medium are indeed 21.5 and 16 cups (as stated elsewhere), respectively, then this one probably holds about 12-13 cups (by volume, not liquid) or probably 3 or 3.5 liters. I have all three -- bim-bam-boom! -- and they have good-looking heights relative to one another and the same stainless-steel burnished screw lids.
Whether you order just this one or all three, to get this kind of ribbed glass in a low-cost product is a treat, and I certainly agree with the prior reviewer who said they were a nice combination of good old-fashioned design and modern tech. IMHO the canister would work well in anything from a high-tech setting to a more 1940s traditional one. It might not look great in the context of a "country" themed kitchen if everything else is ceramic, but nonetheless it's a very versatile object. Dog biscuits, cookies, crackers, cotton balls, soap beads or (in my case) kids' shooter marbles are all displayed well here. I would avoid long-term storage of foods that are not quite dry, and if pests like weevils are a problem in your part of the country, perhaps not even dry food. I personally recommend that if you've any leanings in that direction to order all three. I notice that a prominent Ohio-based store and website offers all three for the mid-fifties of dollars, which is considerably more than these three cost "a la carte." Do be careful to pick the units that are part of SuperSaver, or at least avoid fulfillment houses with enormous ship fees, as I have seen. Because it matters to many people, I'll note that these canisters were manufactured in China.

What I was looking for,

These canisters are attractive and do actually hold an entire bag of product, which was my problem with most canisters you buy. I use the small ones for powdered sugar and corn meal, the medium one for sugar and the large one for flour. They do have a pretty large diameter, so if you are really cramped for counter space, they might take up too much room. They fit well on our standard sized counter. The glass is not perfect. It will have some small bubbles here and there, but doesn't really detract from the look, in my opinion. The lid screws on, so that might be a plus or a minus depending on your view. Technically, it does not have a seal either, but the lid, if threaded on properly, closes down pretty tight, so I'm not worried about moisture or bugs getting in. The big plus is the size so you don't have a mostly empty bag of flour or sugar sitting in you cupboard because the whole bag wouldn't fit the canister.

Bought all 3 sized canisters for flour, sugar and pasta about 1 year ago. LOVE them very much. Pretty to look at and I like the screw top. The lines in the glass give just enough character/design but don't take away from the simplicity of the look. The glass seems thick and has not chipped or cracked. I hope to keep these for a long, long time.

This jars are so pretty in my cabinet, and they keep those pesky flour bugs away by having a seal on everything. I highly recommend them.

Disappointed that product is made in China,

Given the track record of safety in Chinese manufacturing (even for products for their own people), I do not feel comfortable storing food in a canister made in China. If only they were made in the USA or Europe.
