5.0 out of 5 stars A Vampyre-Slayer's Best Friend
If you have been hesitating to buy this garlic roaster (as I had been) then hesitate no more! If you are a garlic lover--for its health and/or taste properties, but can't stomach the raw stuff, then I cannot recommend this highly enough! This garlic roaster is the lazy cook's dream. Just cut off the tops of the garlic, pop it in the roaster, pour a touch of olive oil over...

3.0 out of 5 stars The good and the bad of the Tagco Garlic Cooker.
The good is it is as easy to roast garlic as you could hope. Also, you don't have to heat the whole oven and house to cook the garlic. The down side is an issues of preference. I like roasted garlic somewhat caramalized. Actually, I think it's great when a few of the cloves are almost crispy. I couldn't get this with Tagco Garlic Cooker. There is a ceramic "donut"...

If you have been hesitating to buy this garlic roaster (as I had been) then hesitate no more! If you are a garlic lover--for its health and/or taste properties, but can't stomach the raw stuff, then I cannot recommend this highly enough! This garlic roaster is the lazy cook's dream. Just cut off the tops of the garlic, pop it in the roaster, pour a touch of olive oil over it, press a button, and 27 minutes later, while you are cooking or catching up on your e-mail or whatever, you have up to 3 mouth-watering bulbs of garlic at your fingertips. I also roast peppers and onions in it, and, while the consistency might be a bit mushy for those who are into "al dente," it is perfect for me. I was going to say something clever about vampyres and garlic, but all you true-blue and wanna-be vampyres out there know that garlic is as ineffective in doing away with you as a wooden stake or a silver bullet, so whether you are a bloodsucker or just an ordinary mortal: BUY IT--YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love roasted garlic?, November 8, 2006

This countertop garlic roaster makes excellent roasted garlic. I have owned one for over a year and it performs perfectly. I gave it as a gift and the recipient enjoyed it too! Roasts a goodly portion at a time, takes about 25 minutes. It looks great on the kitchen counter, takes up a tiny bit of room, uses miniscule electricity -- in short, a truly useful appliance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Roater!, December 4, 2006

I'm such a huge fan of this garlic roaster. It really is simple to use, my apartment smells amazing to me, it reminds me of an old Italian restaurant. The only thing i will say, is that it really only holds 2 bulbs at 1 time. With 3, it doesn't seem to hold them very well. But, for myself, i only do 1 bulb usually at a time anyways. I love how simple it is to make restaurant-style garlic butter, mashed potatoes, etc. It's not a big appliance, and well worth the money.

There is a ceramic "donut" at the bottom of the cooker that adds moisture. Even when I don't add moisture the garlic comes out fully cooked but soft. I've tried to cook the cloves twice. The garlic get closer to how I like it but: No Cigar.

It is fast and easy. Cleanup is a breeze. It's easy to store too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tagco Roasted Garlic Express Electric Roaster, November 29, 2006
The product arrived and was immediately useable. The product exceeded my expectations in that it was easy to use and took much less time to create roasted garlic than using the oven or pot on the stove.

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Favorite, January 22, 2008

SUMMARY: Long story short - this countertop baker is worth every penny - not only efficient and reliable, but versatile, too.

HISTORY: I have baked garlic in a hot oven with OK results. Only OK. Mine was never as tasty as that in restaurants, so I made an exception to my "multipurpose" requirement for kitchen appliances and bought Roasted Garlic Express.

TESTIMONY: For baking a single bulb of garlic, it's far more economical to plug this in than to rev up an entire oven. And for some reason regular ovens take twice as long to do the job. If the garlic is more than a few days old, I usually add about 5 minutes for best results.

TIP: Do Not Skimp on the olive oil. The instructions called for much more than I would have used if left to my own devices. Follow the instructions for best results. Duh.

FLAW: My sole criticism is a design flaw: the little handle (for removing the hot tray at the end of the cycle) should have a storage place right on the appliance when the garlic is roasting. Of course for storage we stash it inside the roaster.

RECOMMENDATION: If you want to eat roasted garlic frequently, this appliance is totally worth having.

I like the quick easy way this roaster roasts garlic. It really does exactly what it is advertised to do. I love the smell of roasting garlic and the cooked garlic tastes great! It is simple to operate, cooks in 27 minutes and is simple to clean! It is well worth its price. I liked it so well, I bought one for my sister and she also loves her garlic roaster.

4.0 out of 5 stars Garlic Roaster, January 11, 2007
For the price; does exaxctly what it says, quickly, excellently, and easy to clean. For those of us without the time to peel fresh cloves it works great with the large jar of already peeled cloves. Don't skimp on the olive oil you use with this machine; itt really makes a difference.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy way to make perfect roasted garlic! (But needs some improvements), November 20, 2009
This review is from: Tagco Roasted Garlic Express Electric Roaster - WHITE
I was so surprised when I received this garlic cooker. I guess I expected it to be small, but it is large enough to hold 4 big heads of garlic! (It measures 7inches x 7 inches) It comes with a clay insert that you wet before putting in the special garlic tray. It's quite easy to clean and I like it that I don't need to heat up my oven to make yummy roasted garlic.

I would have liked a count down timer so I knew how much time was left, instead the light goes out and that's the only indication you have that it's ready. Even a little beep sound would be nice. In addition, I don't think that 30 minutes is enough time and my garlic was not as soft as I like it. I cook for another 10 minutes (popping the garlic tray out and adding more water to the clay insert with a turkey baster). For these two reasons I have marked down to a 4 star even though I adore this kitchen appliance and use it quite often.
