5.0 out of 5 stars All the basic knowledge that is needed to create furniture, May 17, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Tage Frid Teaches Woodworking Book 3: Furnituremaking: A Master Craftsman Explains 18 of His Favorite Designs with Complete Plan Drawings and Photographs (Hardcover)
This is a great beginner level to intermediate level book for building furniture. Lots of photos of different ways to make joints. Although this book is short on words, it makes up for it by showing how to make joints and furniture. Tage Frid is a master craftsman and this book is a no nonsense guide on woodworking.

...that provides solid information on building and designing furniture. This focuses more on the design part while the first two books in the series focus on basics and techniques.

Tage Frid teaches woodworking is a study reference for the new woodworker and provides a learing study guide for mastering the skills needed for woodworking. This man was accomplished and an artist in wood, his many talents were in design, skilled woodworking, and mostly the gift and talent to teach. Did I say for the novice, no I really mean he possessed knowledge for any woodworker to learn from. It is a wonderful addition to a woodworkers library.

This will be released by Taunton Press, supposedly October 2005. Good thing I didn't win one on ebay. Wait for the new one, or wait for used prices to drop.

November 2005: Now Taunton tells me they will only release this book with the slipcase set that contains all three volumes. That's disappointing. Still, I guess that they will eventually release this book by itself. Probably sometime after the holidays.
