My son always seemed to have a thing for tags and I had heard about Taggies before, so I search Amazon to find their products. Lo and behold... the Taggies elephant. My son and I both love this elephant. It has tons of tags with various colors and designs. The elephant has a mouse in its tummy that your baby can pull out and it will vibrate and retract back into the elephant's tummy. The "bars" (for lack of a better word) that go around the elephant's tummy make it easy for baby to hold.

The toy was a bit bigger than I was expecting - if you look at the toy in comparison to the boy in the picture it will give you a good idea, but for some reason I thought it would be smaller. Not a problem though - it actually made it easier for my son to play with. He absolutely loved chewing on the tags and playing with the mouse. The toy kept him happily occupies in the car and on shopping trips. Sometimes it was the only thing that would calm him down.

I rated the "educational value" a 2 because there's no much to learn from this toy except perhaps cause and effect by pulling the mouse and having it retract.

I strongly recommend this toy. I'm actually back looking for a new one because ours has been misplaced.

I ordered this for my newborn son. He just loves it! It has a sweet little jingle and is very soft to the touch. We take it every where we go.

My son uses tags on this animal for teething. It is really cute and has a mouse that you can pull and will go back to the inside of the elephant's tummy. Very light and portable for toddlers to carry around. It can be pricey depending on which site you go but I loved it and my son seems to enjoy playing with it.

I bought this for my daughter when she was a baby, she's four now, and she still carries it everywhere with her and sleeps with it every night. It's REALLY cute!!!!

(Neil's wife writing this review) We bought this for our daughter when she was about 4 months old (she's now 3 years old). At first she wasn't really interested in it, or any stuffed animals for that matter. But once she got a little older and the pediatrician said she was old enough to have one stuffed animal/lovey in the crib with her we put the taggie elephant in with her and it is her constant companion now. She rubs the tags every night and nap time until she falls asleep. When we have to take her to the pediatrician she rubs the tags to ease her anxiety. We ended up buying two just in case she ever loses her first...although she knows the difference between the two since one is well loved and the other, not so much. Little babies may not be interested when they are quite young, but once they get older they will LOVE playing with the tags. We have several taggie items but this elephant is her favorite.

It's cute, has lots of tags and crinkles to play with. The mouse pulls out and vibrates. My son doesn't seem interested in it though. He's 8 months, so maybe he's still too young for it.

What is it about Taggie toys & blankets..... babies just love them. Our grandson uses his only at nap or bedtime and finds it so soothing. Once he gets it in his hands, his eyes get dreamy and he snuggles right up to me. Life doesn't get much better than that!!

My mother-in-law got this for my 3 month old son for Christmas. He LOVES it. He spent 10 minutes "talking" to it. He also reaches for it and likes to touch it. It is a good size for a diaper bag as well.

My 6 months old son got this toy as a Christmas gift. He loves it! He likes to play with all the little tags. The design is great for little hands to grab and hold on to this toy.

We got this as a gift but it was invaluable in our toy arsenal! My son just loves to play with the tabs, he wraps them around his fingers and sucks on them. We travel a lot so this was prefect to have in the car, if it falls away from him in his car seat it is super easy for him to reach for it and grab one of the tabs to bring it back to himself. I would buy this a million times over!
