5.0 out of 5 stars Polynesian Artistry at its Finest, January 10, 2005
This review is from: Tahiti Belle Epoque 7 (Audio CD)
Like all great vocalists, Emma makes the extremely difficult seem easy. Whether it is effortlessly reaching for a high note or sliding into a low note, every phrase is a delight.

The happy songs are joyful, and the sad ones show an inner strength.

Overall, considering that this is Tahiti -- even the studio sound has a full, warm sound, and a nice blend of vocalists and insruments.

Masterful.

A free trip to Tahiti without the air fare.

It's hard to find Tahitian music that doesn't break the bank. I used to dance with a Polynesian group, and copies of music would be made so that you could practice to the music. Most of the copies were either on cassette tape or CD-Rs, which were typically of poor quality. After all, the point was not mixing the music to get sound quality, it was to get the music audible enough to dance to it. I always tried to buy the actual music albums because I enjoy Polynesian music. Emma has a gorgeous voice. I can't believe that she isn't as famous worldwide as Don Ho! As someone who enjoys beautiful alto voices, I recommend this album.
