5.0 out of 5 stars Pang's On Tai Chi Chuan is Great!, March 4, 2004
By
Chip (Honolulu, Hawaii) - See all my reviews
This review is from: On Tai Chi Chuan (Paperback)
This book is a must for the Yang style practitioner. Pang has many pages of excellent text - history, stories, advice, translations, commentary. His pictures are excellent. Much of the writing was done over a period of years in Hawaii - it was given out to his students for their edification. Pang's use of English is both inventive and stylish - a rare treat in the language from a non-native speaker.

5.0 out of 5 stars A deep love for Tai Chi, April 11, 2004
By
Geoff Winn (Portland, Or.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: On Tai Chi Chuan (Paperback)
I find it difficult to review this book, as my words seem inadequate for the task. Mr. Pang describes the lineage of his tai chi teachers and the possible origin of tai chi. He also does a very good job of explaining his form, as far as words can contain the form.

Early in the book, Mr. Pang describes the form as living wisdom.
The only way to really gain access to this living wisdom is to practice the form. This book is a good tool to help get started.

5.0 out of 5 stars A treasure of a resource for the student of Tai Chi Chuan., March 13, 2010
This review is from: On Tai Chi Chuan (Paperback)
I agree with other reviewers here that words really fail to describe the level and quality of knowledge contained in this book. Mr. Pang has somehow placed on the printed page an art that is experiential in its nature. This is a must have reference book for the Tai Chi student, martial arts student, and student of health and the human experience. I cannot recommend it too highly.
