5.0 out of 5 stars Foundation for Taoist Qigong
"Chaotic Harmony is not a training film. Yet it provides an instructive spiritual guided tour on a Taiji journey through the whimsical eye of Master Hon and the perceptive ear of Philip Glass. Like the intricate Taiji movements of Jade Maiden Weaving, these artists bind a tapestry of classical Taiji movements, poetry, contemporary dance, street theater, and lyrical chants...

2.0 out of 5 stars Very amateur stuff
What can I say? It's certainly not the best of Glass music but it's a very interesting piece. And it suits well that genre. But overall I'm very disappointed. First of all, it's only 24 minutes long. It's a bit pricey for what we got. $9.99 would be an appropriate price. The quality of the images is simply not there at all. It's very poor quality. The editing is not that...

The editing is not that bad and the encoding is awful. Unless you're a real fan of Glass or you're interested by that subject, my advice is to avoid it or wait 'til the price drops.

"Chaotic Harmony is not a training film. Yet it provides an instructive spiritual guided tour on a Taiji journey through the whimsical eye of Master Hon and the perceptive ear of Philip Glass. Like the intricate Taiji movements of Jade Maiden Weaving, these artists bind a tapestry of classical Taiji movements, poetry, contemporary dance, street theater, and lyrical chants with strands of voice and cello. This is a work to be experienced and explored like the penetrating art of Taiji.

In this film, Master Hon and Philip Glass collaborate to combine ancient Daoist alchemy and modern art forms to create a contemporary shamanistic experience that takes place in the parks, streets, and subways of New York City. Master Hon anchors the film with the 600-year-old Wu Dang Dragon Taiji Form around which the flowing themes of the film's music, dance, and poetry orbit. Paralleling the Taiji form and Yi Jing (Book of Changes), the film evolves from Wuji (the void), to Hundun (chaos), to Taiji, yin and yang, and the myriad of things and takes the viewer on a mystical journey between earth and heaven."...
